A wonderful venue for dining or drinks in my opinion. Beautiful interior, good menu. Basically all the bases all well covered by Robard’s. I was amused that the bar staff did not know what a Dark and Stormy was. But I explained to them that it was a Moscow Mule but with dark rum. The drink was not good and they charged 10 bucks. So, I would stick with wine or beer when you come here. thefriedchickenblog.blogspot.com
Read the reviews for this restaurant and decided to go and try it for myself. Had reservations for 7 pm. We were seated promptly by very courteous hostesses. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and was very personable. The food was absolutely fabulous from appetizers to dinner! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Shocked by some of the review comments I had read.
The food proved to be good but the service for us was lacking. We were seated at a table where the server was not very good and was quite aggravating actually. There was a delay waiting to be served from the moment we were seated. It was quite awkward watching four servers leaning against a wall looking at us and us looking at them but no one approached us. I immediately got that bad vibe that this was not going to turn out well. One of those servers staring at us told another server, who was just meandering around, something and gestured toward us. He eventually shuffled to us as slow as he could and mumbled something none us could understand as he spoke so low. We informed him we could not hear what he was stating and he responded by saying he had an inner ear problem and he thought he was screaming. Oh boy, lucky us. He seemed out of place in an eatery like this. He had to be prompted on what to do or what we would like next. At one point in his mumbles we had to tell him to just give us menus. We were preparing for the worse at this point. Fortunately, the food turned out to be quite good. It was not the best steakhouse we have been to but it was no where near the worst either. We started off with the bacon wrapped scallops which were excellent. The candied bacon was extraordinary but would have been better without the bleu cheese crumbles. The Caesar salad was outstanding. The steaks were not all that well prepared as both were undercooked. We ordered our steaks medium and they were actually medium rare. The sea bass was very good. For dessert a warm apple cobbler was ordered and was very scrumptious. I would say the only downside to our visit here was our waiter. Now as we sat and watched waiting for things to happen, we noticed other tables getting far better attentive service than we were. Our server’s ineptitude and meandering seem to be the exception and not the norm just by watching the others who work here. We still left somewhat aggravated that we had to end up with the one waiter that seemed to be off. For the prices we paid, the service should have been second to none. We would return here if in the area but we would not drive across town again just to eat here. It was good but not great.
Fascinating!!!. We had dinner with my husband last Saturday in Robards Steak House. My opinion is this is one of the best restaurants in the Houston area (restaurant located on Woodlands) The service was excellent and fascinating! Our server Emil was very attentive to all our needs and explained in details what degree of cooking would be most appropriate to our dishes. We had a delicious juicy Filet Mignon and tender Veal chop ribs. We followed the advice of our server Emil and we did not regret about the choice as well as he also advised us to order a special wine for our meat dishes – Argentine Malbec. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fantastic, huge fireplace on one side and a panorama of a golf course on the other. We will definitely return here again to celebrate some sort of special day.
Excellent. Have eaten here several times. The food is excellent, ambience wonderful….overlooking water and 18th green. The bar is also excellent area to hang out, listen to music, enjoy happy hour…Definitely recommend..especially the filets…
Travel a lot & have eaten in almost every regional/national steakhouse in the country. Best filet I’ve ever had
No attention to details or the customer.. Expected much better for the hype and the price. Service was far from average and at time none existent. We were seated and didn’t see anyone for 5 minutes on New Years Eve and there was no crowd to warrant the level of service. Food was good but I don’t see this this being the place to get away too for a nice meal or to bring friends out to dine. They have a lot of work to do. Disappointed
