This is the kind of place that your rating and experience will be equivalent to your expectations. If you are expecting Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts you will be disappointed. If you are looking for cute, hipster, tucked into the antique shopping off a small town’s main street you will enjoy it!Pros: It’s cute, the food is excellent, they host live music, there is a lawn and outdoor seating.Cons: It’s expensive by comparison. It has extremely limited and cramped indoor seating (no high chairs or booster seats). On the weekends expect a long line. During the week expect to see a lot of college students.Overall: My kids love this place, but it’s not an all the time kind of spot. The food and pastries are wonderful – the ham and cheese pretzel kolaches are made with a ham hock in there – not just sliced or chopped deli meat. They really make an effort to provide high-quality food in a charming atmosphere. greaterhoustonmoms.com
This place has it all for the hipster…Antique place settings to the mix-matched furniture & relaxing jams, it feels like Austin & Portland wrapped up in Tomball. I love the atmosphere that the owners built inside. Did I not mention that their food is AMAZING!? From the breakfast sandwiches and now serving lunch sandwiches, it’s all so fresh! They use all natural ingredients so don’t shy away from the homemade bread! Never leave without trying out the coffee too! Or sampling their homemade desserts and bakery. I try to go back as often as I can to have a short ‘get-a-way’ from work.
The place looks very cute and eclectic. It is so very small on the inside. I came on a Thursday for breakfast at 10am and the line was out the door. The place is not kid friendly. I say that because there are no high chairs or booster seats. There is also no kids menu. It saddens me but I can understand some of the misgivings. I had to get my food to go because there was no where to sit. You are literally trying not to bump into people. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I’d like to try it again on a different day.
Great espresso / Corrado / flat white – can I say, earl Australian coffee? Stumptown beans. Baked goods also a speciality – check out their chocolate cake – one of the best I’ve ever had. Espresso served with a different treat every day!
This is very small and eclectic bakery. This place is no frills with a country, homey vibe. We were warmly welcomed upon arriving and after answering affirmatively that this was our first visit. We ordered the pecan pie and a piece of the banana nut coffee cake. The pecan pie was very good but the coffee cake was nothing worth commenting about or getting again. There really not much in the way of offerings here. If in the area, this place may be worth a try for you but doubt our travels will take us back here.
Although it’s true that the food is good, there are many wonderful establishments near us with good food… The low rating has more to do with the uncomfortable vibe the owners give off, rather than the food. The pictures on this restaurant’s Facebook page show wonderful get-togethers and seem to portray a place that values community… Unfortunately, I don’t feel a sense of community when I visit. It seems that the folks who are regulars are treated well, but if you’re not recognized, good luck with a kind word or smile. I was especially disappointed when taking out-of-town family members to the bakery as I had talked this place up and couldn’t wait to share it with them. I was actually embarrassed when we got done eating and apologized for the rude behavior… Should I be apologizing for this establishment’s behavior…? Probably not…
What a delightful place just off Main St., back in a neighborhood with small retail businesses, complete with spanking new parking lot opposite. Signage is minimal, but it’s an old converted house slinging housemade pastries, small breakfasts and great coffee. The place was packed with social groups, plenty of chairs. Coffee cake was nice and not too sweet, perfect Americano. Staff were lovely and pretty chill. Wi-fi. I will be back when in the area!
