Stung at APISDisappointing experience given the build up. Poor service and disorganized staff. Give it a pass – especially given the expensive, price point. We try to support local businesses. We have dined here several times. Good ambiance, food is overpriced and hit and miss experience. Some dishes are truly excellent, but others are just ok.Recently returned to a set menu only dinner for our 23rd wedding anniversary. High expectations given high, fixed-price menu. To start the evening off – Three individual appetizers courses came to our table and each time, the waiter only brought one for a table of two, leaving one person without food. Amazingly, this happened three times. Waiters were at a loss to explain how they ran out of food. Finally asked to speak with manager about the situation. He was clearly stressed out. He told us not to complain because much more food was coming. When pressed, he had a litany of excuses why it was not his fault:1)He told us that he did not want to serve the appetizers/canaps inside. He wanted to serve them outside – nobody agreed with him;2)Our kitchen is busy trying to serve 50 other people;3)Come back another time when visiting chefs were gone. While all of these might be valid excuses, it is not professional to share them with the patrons. Nor is it professional to run out of food on a set menu with only one seating. The most amazing part, the manager did NOT apologize once for the bad service or running out of food on the first three appetizers on a set menu with pre-known group numbers that all sat down at the same time. Wow.It is a shame as this restaurant has potential. Chef Taylor, Keith the apiary manager, and Brent the service director are all talented and kind-spirited folks who you want to succeed. There were other problems that evening, but running out of food and an unapologetic manager with a litany of excuses why he was not personally responsible for the error was a first and last for us.
