Do not come here on a busy night. We were waiting for a good 20-30 minutes. The salsa was served and presented in great detail of each one by our server. The salsa was amazing. Unique and tasty. We ordered our food and knew it was busy so a wait was to be expected. Our server then forgot about us, I had to wave someone down to get more water. We got our food and one of my three enchiladas were wrong. My daughters burrito was covered in queso that we didn’t ask for or want. When my boyfriend asked for his fajita steak to be served med rare they said it comes as served. Everyone was finished eating before the server came back and asked if I would still like a replacement dish, I told him nevermind, since everyone was done eating anyway. I saw $3 taken off the check for the hassle. I’m sure lunch time would be a perfect time to try this place again.

Came here for dinner a few nights ago, the food was really good, loved the 3 salsa dip they give you to start out. Our waiter was Grayson and he was training someone which can be a chore in itself but he was outstanding. Never had an empty glass or needed anything that he didn’t already have coming. This is definitely my favorite Mexican/Tex Mex restaurant chain. Will probably be visiting this one frequently when I’m in the mood for Mexican!

The large development on South Broadway, Village at Cumberland Park, has brought some new restaurants to Tyler. The long and short of it, I liked everything I tasted at Abuelo’s! They start you off with a hot sauce sampler with 3 different flavors. You can then ask them for your own bowl of the one of your choosing. The restaurant was nice and spacious. My companion remarked on the beautiful detailed paintings on the wall. I got a basic 2 enchilada and taco dinner. Another unique thing about Abuelo’s, in addition to the usual choice of rice and beans, you also have the option of Papas Con Chile, aka cheesy potatoes. They were very good. I liked both enchiladas and their sauces. They have a cool little computer ‘thing’ where you can pay your bill. It has a very handy feature where you scroll left to right to adjust tip – it will show you how much 15% is, etc.. All in all a great experience. I think most dinners were around $10 or more, which is pretty much what all Mexican restaurants are coming to.
