Very disappointing Crab cakes were mostly cornmeal or something like it with some crab pieces in them, worst crab cakes ever, my ten year old son wouldnt eat themSteak was thin with a lot of fat in it-not marbling-Way overpriced and pretentious I dont mind paying a lot for good food and I dont mind eating so so food it its inexpensive, but I loathe wasting my time and money for something thats subpar It too bad because I try to support local businesses but will not go again

Our date night dinner last night at Dakotas was delicious and romantic, perfect from beginning to end.The new owners have made Dakotas the date night location for Tyler. The tables have white tablecloths, a tea light and a beautiful flower bouquet. The presentation plate of the best filet mignon in Texas had grilled asparagus and grilled tomato slice atop a slice of squash. We were very happy to have a choice of a baked potato. Their new location plans to have music some nights and to make it perfect for date nights, birthday and anniversary celebrations a small dance floor would be very nice.

Really?. After we were seated, a couple, we waited 20 minutes for the waiter to address us. After ordering the main course, we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes before it arrived. We ordered a rib eye and redfish. The steak came out as two distinctly different cuts of meat (two separate pieces of meat). One was the rib eye center and the other was what appeared to be left over scraps. The steak was ordered medium rare but it was cooked medium well. The redfish was served with rice. I wondered why the fish was underneath the rice until I cut into it. It was severely overcooked. I asked to speak with the manager and a woman came out reporting to be the owner. I asked her about the fish and she picked up my fork, poked at it and sarcastically said, it isnt flaky enough for YOU? I asked her about the steak and she responded rudely by saying, what do YOU expect me to do about it? I said that Id like to discuss it with the chef. She said, Im not going to let YOU speak with my chef. I paid for the overpriced drinks and left. That was the first time that I ever left without eating at a restaurant. I would strongly recommend eating elsewhere.
