Great start to the new year!. After fighting the crowds at Dillards, it was time to locate my favorite new year’s meal of shrimp & grits. I’ve eaten this dish many times, so I know what the best tastes like. Google’s top hit was Fish City Grill, so we decided to give it a try. Wow! Food was great! Shrimp & Grits and Serafin’s Fish Tacos with a couple of brews. Delicious. Will be back soon!
Love this place!! We’re visiting Tyler and picked the right place to eat. When our server Jason heard this was our first visit, he brought us sample bites of the soups, all very good and the crab bisque is fantastic! He also brought me samples of a couple drinks to help me make up my mind…great margarita. The music was nice, unobtrusive. Wonderful food and service, we will be back.
SEAFOOD PARADISE!!!. First of all let me start by saying I’m very critical of seafood for the main reason that we are not by the ocean!! Me being from New England I know when fish is fresh and when it’s not. I arrived to Fish City was greated promptly by young gentleman! my first impression of this place seemed to be very unflattering, I browsed the menu and saw a crab cake as an appetizer so I was tempted with that. i ordered their house margarita which was on special for 2.99!! It was very potent for the price, the waitress named Claire offered me calamari but i asked about the crab cake she told me it was great and mixed with claw meat regular lump and SUPER lump meat.her knowladge was impressive and it helped me in trying this option.as the crab cake came out she offered me chilean swordfish with a champagne caper cream sauce! it sounded so good i couldn’t say no.the crab cake was something serious!! i expected a crab cake with a lot of filler, but this thing was all but, it was big enough to be a meal and there was so much crab meat!! they served it with a side of remoulade, and a lemon with a garinsh of tomato and spring mix on the side as well. The swordfish was amazing!! it was cooked over a wood grill and was tender as they come!! the sauce was great and complemented the fish great!! what made this whole experience great was that the manager came by and talked to me for a bit. told me they rotate fresh fish every other day for their specials board!! Im excited to go back and see what else they have to offer. Overall this was by far one of my favorite places to come and try here in Tyler will be back very soon
Not going back. Had the fish tacos or burrito should i say. I wasn’t a fan of my entree. My lady friend got Salmon with a sauce and the sauce was very bland and non flavorful. It almost tasted like there was too much thicking agent in their i.e. roux, etc.. I wont be returning not only because of the food but the restroom really was gross and that usually translates to other areas of cleanliness.
Blackened Black Board Special. Blackboard special of grilled salmon topped with cilantro lime sauce was spot on. The steamed veggies where a little bland but the flavor of the fish and perfection to which it was grilled made me forget about the veggies. The wife had crab cakes, hand made and not some preformed frozen straight off the Sysco truck kind that you so often find in our little berg, crispy exterior and a perfect soft crabby interior.Ambiance was fine, nice bar area and plenty of room in the booths.
This place is amazing I don’t know what food is the best because it is all delicious. The waitstaff and management make you feel not rushed and they are very personable. I will be here again and again. Great prices and a wide variety of foods like oyster nachos, fish tacos, and many other amazing gourmet seafood. I would eat here instead any other seafood restraunt in Tyler. Good job keep it up fish city grill!! I wish there was one in every town.
Went yesterday for first time. Had grilled trout and fish tacos. Claire the waitress brought us samples when she found out we had never been. Food was very good! Service was good. Will be back!
