Had the House fried rice. It was most excellent! I will definitely be back for more. The sweet tea was hardly sweet enough and I had to send it back and just drink water. The decor was beautiful and the soft music in the background was welcoming and restful. Every booth had chips and sweet and sour sauce just sitting out on the table…. For who knows how long? I would shy away from that but otherwise this is a great place to eat.

County Line Magazine. Review by Patti LightThe smell of rich hosin sauce and sesame, the comforting warmth of hot green tea, the snap of fresh steamed broccoli and the nutty salt of the soy fried rice this is a combination of my favorite meal and the home that houses it. I have been a long time customer of Liangs Chinese restaurant in Tyler and utterly shocked when I realized I have not entered it into County Line for a dining review for the past three years.Liangs is an institution for many East Texans. It is a classic restaurant. Dressed in bamboo and sunshine from its big glass windows , Liangs offers solace and warm Chinese food for diners right off the hustle and bustle of the Loop in Tyler between the Troup Highway and Paluxy in the old Albertsons shopping center. I will never understand how someone can love buffet Chinese after eating the cooked to order meals at Liangs. The menu is as diverse as the tradition of the cooking. If you want to begin with a treat I would suggest the Cho Cho Beef or the fresh edamame. The hand rolled spring rolls are delicious. Liangs makes dining for a family or customer as easy as choosing the dinner special with a rate per diner over two people. My familys favorite is the Peking family dinner which includes a soup, appetizer of egg roil, spare rib or fried jumbo shrimp and beginning with two diners an entre of moo shi pork and sweet and sour delight. Just add another diner and add shrimp with lobster sauce that is rich and bursts with the buttery taste of fresh lobster. If you add a fourth to your dinner the Peking rounds out with the sauce Hunan Beef which is a Liangs House Special. The Champagne Chicken is a lighter dish that includes a sparkling light wine sauce with sauted water chestnuts. If you want something with some kick to it shredded pork with garlic sauce is a power favor punch for your taste buds. The restaurant also offers lots of vegetarian options and the Hearts Delight Menu is designed for a healthy eating regiment. All Hearts Delights menu items have a low sodium and MSG quota and are served with steamed rice. The beef with snow peas on this menu is great, but looses some of the classic flavor without the heavier sauce. They also offer MSG free and gluten free options.Lunch is the time most people frequent Liangs Tuesday-Sunday. You can dine for under $10 and be full all day. Service at Liangs after the lunch rush can be a little slower, but they always make up for it with a smile, quick refills and the best crispy noodles I have ever had outside of Chinatown in Philly. The menu at Liangs is vast and can be over whelming at times, this is why some customers do not branch out, but I encourage you to. Though the all-white meat Sesame Chicken is my favorite I have discovered I love the spicy aftershock of the chicken with peanuts as well. This small Tyler Chinese family-owned eatery tries all the time to keep us loyal and offers a quiet escape and now salted caramel chocolate ice cream and as always a great sake at the bar. If you have never ventured toward the red sign beacon go soon and ask for an extra side of rice. You can always walk 30 minutes extra this week. Bring friends for lunch or dinner, but not on Monday as they are closed. You will find the home with great Chinese food you have been missing in East Texas.
