No Personality. Ist time visit was told it was a good place to eat… Waited for someone to sit us , a tall gentleman working behind the counter never acknowledged us , was rude even when we paid the check, the food was just ok. Will we ever go again??? NEVER!!!!
Prejudice Place. Funny thing that they sell down home southern cooking but can’t seem to stand the sight of an ethnic person to step foot into their building. I visited this place once with my fiance at the time (yes we are african american) due to winning a girt card to the resteraunt. The atomosphere was bad from the moment we stepped in, we were not greeted but instead looke at like aliens from another planet. I spoke up and asked if they were still serving breakfast and with a stiff and dry NO they answered and made no attempt to move to seat us or anything. I said thanks and away we turned. As soon as we stepped outide my fiance spoke up and said exactly the feelings I was thinking so I must have been right on the money. I vowed to give the certificate to someone who could show face in there and never step foot in there again which would probably be just fine to them. My mother encountered the same thing with an outing for lunch with friends of which she was the only ethnic in the group. Another co -worker of mine of yrs mentioned the same thing one day without even knowing of my experience. So I wouldn’t know if this food is good or not because they do not welcome us to dine there. I never thought I would be in a situation like that in the 2000’s but leave it to this area and that is what you’ll get someone to make a believer out of you. They might as well hang a sign on the door that says what race is welcome only! I despise this place!
Good Food/Bad Building. There is no denying this is some really good food, home cookin like grandma used to make. My only issue is the place needs a little facelift. But the food is really good.
Lunch buffet. This is probably the most reasonable lunch buffet in Tyler … and they prepared East Texas food! Fried chicken, fried fish, chicken fried steak, black eyed peas, mac and cheese with cornbread and hot rolls. A real bargain.
