This place never disappoints. I’ve never had a bad meal here but, better than that, the wait staff is very attentive and friendly. The owner is present and making everyone feel at home. Really great experience.
An embarrassment to Italian Restaurants…. Returning home from Thanksgiving Holidays with family and friends, and traveling through Tyler, Texas, I decided to have Italian for dinner; I was not impressed. When I asked for a Campari and Soda with a twist of lemon, the young waitress returned promptly to my table and said I would need to order a different wine! Campari is one of the most recognized liqueurs in true Italian restaurant/club combinations. It’s not that they didn’t serve Campari so much as they didn’t recognise it by name; I decided to let that one go; then came the Appetizer. It was everything but appetising. I wouldn’t go so far as to agree with the Huffington Post that some restaurants substitute pig intestine for squid, but it tasted nothing like what I’m accustomed to having. I should have been clued-in when the Appetizer arrived and there was enough ‘calamari’ to serve three people, all for less than ten dollars. After a few bites, I called for the check and left the restaurant…fortunatley I had the presence of mind to wait before ordering an entre. Don’t get me started about the bread!
The owner of the restaurant never once checked on us but went out of his way to speak to others. The food was not at all worth the price the only good thing was the fact that the bread was good. It took forever for us to even get serviced. Safe to say that this will be my first and last time EVER here and everyone will know about my awful experience.
Outstanding Italian food. The folks who own Mario’s are like family (just ask Mo and Veronique about their grandbaby). Best Italian sauce anywhere, the pizza is the best, and the steak and the snapper are outstanding. Best to have a reservation on Friday and Saturday, they are very busy because of the great and friendly service.
Awesome. Food was amazing but the entertainment was the best it get’s in Tyler. Israel guitarist and singer is so talented and I could listen to him everyday!!!! Will definatley be back soon;-)))
Love this place! From the service to the atmosphere to the food it is great! We have been 3 times and each time was just as great as before. Food is really great and everyone is so friendly and the owner usually makes himself available. When we want great Italian we always come here!
Great evening. Mario’s has a nice family atmosphere. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. Israel, the song stylist does a good job of keeping you entertained. He also recognizes family events, I.e. birthdays, anniversaries. The food is always very good. Chicken Marsala, chicken piccata and the pizza are my personal favorites.
