Great Food!. Newks is great for lunch. Big menu with lots of sandwiches, salads, soup and personal size pizzas. BIG cups for the delicious ice tea! We love Newks!!!!
One of my favorites. Newk’s was a pleasant surprise for me, somewhat like a Cafe Express but with a more fun interior. Salads are huge and excellent but the place is hopping at noon time and fills up nicely. It was a nice surprise to find such a cool little place in Tyler, I will be back soon.
Good atmosphere, great for vegetarians. Newk’s is one of the few American restaurants in Tyler that offers more than one or two vegetarian options, which I appreciate. The atmosphere is great for being nearly a fast-food joint. The lights are slightly dimmed and whenever I’m there in the evening they’re playing vocal jazz. The sandwiches are a bit smaller than you’d expect for the price, but the ingredients and preparation are a big step-up from what you’d get at Subway, which makes it worth it to me. Vegetarian options include the Greek salad (which is very good) Simply salad; Margherita, Five-Cheese, and Veggie pizzas; Tomato-basil and Mushroom Bisque soups; and my personal favorite, the Vegetarian Club, which has mushrooms, goat cheese, roasted bell peppers and pesto. The oil-based pasta salad offered as a side is meat-free and delicious. Be warned the Broccoli Cheese soup is not vegetarian.
No Spoon. I had a Newks Q and a bowl of loaded potato soup. Overall the food was good. However I didn’t get a spoon. I walked all over the place and couldn’t find a spoon. So I got three packages of crackers and broke them up in my soup and ate it with a fork. Either way the food was good, but it was kind of loud. I could barely hear my wife who was sitting right next to me.
Nothing to write home about.. I have been there a few times and its just not all that great. Service was great and ppl are friendly. The place is clean. I just did not care for the food. But thats me. I would say that you should go and make up your mind for yourself.
My husband’s favorite!. This my husband’s favorite restaurant in Tyler! He loves the sandwich and salad combo. His favorite is the Newk’s Q and Caesar salad! Mine is the Tomato basil soup and chicken Salad sandwich! The dinner salads are huge! Lots of yummy ingredients! and the Iced tea is the best! Great value for the money! You will not leave here hungry!
The Salad I had at Newks was disgusting! It had a bunch of weird toppings that didn’t go together at all. And they didn’t have any salad dressings I liked, only weird nasty vinagarettes and oils. Gross- don’t go there!
