  I lived in Austin – the birth of Schlotzskys – for 20Years. Was happy to see a Schlotzskys here in Tyler – that is until I ate one of their sandwiches. I have ordered their Original sandwich from both locations and in each instance the sandwich just did NOT measure up. The bread was wrong, the meats not quite right. Their sandwiches here in Tyler simply miss the mark. Somehow their quality control is not up to standards. Somehow they are cutting corners because a Schlotzskys taste MUCH MUCH better than the product being pushed here. Take it from someone who has been eating them since 1979. Or next time in Austin, go to their Lamar St location and see for yourself what a Schlotzskys should really taste like.

  Great place to eat!. I like eating here. Their gourmet pizza…chicken and pesto is the best thing on the menu. I dont care for their sandwiches that much. I have always had good service. If you take your kids there on report card day they can get a free kids meal if you show their report card to them.

  Rude & OUTRAGEOUS!. I know that schlotzsky’s is a chain, and i have visited other restaurants in other states, which were very good and they are the reason that i even tried the one here in tyler! well, i was extremely turned off by this restaurant! when i walked in it was unclean and the staff was actually sitting on the counter not doing anything. when my family and i walked to the counter we were ignored and werent served until my husband got irritated and said something to someone walking by, he was ignored by that person as well, then he walked over to the person sitting on the counter and asked them for some service, after he hopped off the counter and shlumped his way to the cash registarr we were then able to make our purchase. he gave us attitude the entire time and was barely audible! eventually we sat down to await our order. when we did finally recieve our order (about 30 minutes later) it was made incorrectly. we then had to wait longer for the correct order to be made. and as if this were not enough, they messed up my daughter’s order the second time in a row! and when i brought it back i was yelled at by the staff! and no i am not overplaying it… she actually SCREAMED at me and threatened me and my husband with her (obviously unused) mop! when i asked to see the manager she refused to go get her, and the rest of the staff just stood around, when it got to that point i was yelling too and this staff member actually tried to place her hands on me! i demanded an apology and my money back for the order that was messed up! and no one moved. not an inch.the manager then slinked her way from the back of the store because (i’m assuming) she heard the ruckus we were making. she didnt say a word to me just opened the cash registar and put the money on the counter. then she continued to let her staff scream at me and threaten me and my family. after service like that i will never return to ANY of the chains.after calling the main schlotzsky’s in tyler the man told me he was sorry and that the issue would be dealt accordingly, but who knows! i certainly never will, because i will NEVER eat there again. and if any of you are thinking about it, DON’T! you will regret it!
