Best Donuts in Tyler. Opens at 5 a.m. and has a drive-thru. Having tried several of Tyler’s local donut shops, I now drive across town to Shipley’s when I have a craving. Their fruit fillings don’t have the bitter, petroleum jelly flavor and texture that other places do. I recommend the raspberry filled. The cream and Bavarian are also very good. The donuts are very light, rather than dense and cakey, which I like. Service is prompt and friendly and it’s a great place for people-watching…eavesdropping on the old-timers shooting the bull there in the mornings is always interesting.
