First lets start with how you order, when you enter the very small inside are you are presented with the giant menu and counter to order first. Then you find a seat – if lucky and the servers will bring your food. The sides, red skin potato salad was good, cole slaw got nice compliments from others (I dont eat Cole slaw anywhere) the beans were chili style and just left me lacking – but you dont go to a BBQ joint for the sides. The pulled pork was nice and tender, the baby back ribs were great pull off the bone tender , the brisket, a nice fat and meat and fork tender and lastly the ch I Ken thigh filet was the biggest surprise – it was excellent.I do recommend you stopping at Stanleys and if I get the chance I will!

#11 stop in our Texas Monthly 50 Bbq Challenge.Ordered Shrove sandwich and Red Skin Potato Salad. The Shrove is a bun with grilled ham, cheese, and chopped brisket. A really great combination. The Red Skin Potato Salad was great as well. It had the consistency of a great pimento cheese spread – a bit course but not a paste – far different from the real coarse sometimes almost liquid varieties sometimes seen elsewhere.A small paper tray of pickle slices, onions, and pickled jalapeno slices accompanied our order.Order line was long with more folks arriving constantly. The young lady taking orders and securing payment was a whiz at answering questions, getting the order, and getting to the next patron. Hence the line went rather quickly.

These have to be fake reviews. The place sucked, overpriced, bad food and the staff was a group of teenage incompetence. Sorry, but horrible experience, never again and felt like I got ripped off hard and I did.

Huge place, full, maybe 10-20 in line, but it took just a few minutes for us to get in, we arrived at noon and they were not out of anything, and the posters throughout the big restaurant were entertaining. Worth the detour from the interstate. Some of the best that I’ve had, and in my 2-3 days in New Brunfels near Austin, I was obsessed with German food, so I still need tomake it there for the BBQ. I was going to get it a 4.5, but why bring down a 4.9 rating on 637 votes, and it’s better than top 10%, it’s top 2-5% food?

Voted as one of the top rib joints in Texas and it lived up to its reputation. I got the half slab rib meal with homemade potato salad, Cole slaw, baked beans and pickle/onions/jalapeo peppers. I topped off the ribs off with the spicy hot BBQ sauce. The sauce alone has one heck of a kick, but when combined with the rub, it gives the ribs a great smoky, tangy, BBQ flavor. The ribs were incredibly moist and tender. The sides definitely tasted freshly prepared. All served on black butcher paper. And to completely my meal, great live music and service.

This is a very charming place. Excellent brisket and ribs. Fun atmosphere with live music. Good beer selection. I would stop in anytime in Tyler.

It was OK. 2 Meat plate, for 2 ribs and 4 tiny slices of Brisket. Ribs are GREAT, Brisket OK but edges were crunchy and not smoked. Beans were good but again, tiny Styrofoam portion size. Decent serving of Cole slaw and potato salad… Served on a piece of paper… Nuff said about that. I usually despise potato salad but this was actually good, Cole slaw wasn’t sweet but good. BBQ sauce tasted like ketchup and the hotter version was HOT but tasty.
