Food was good, not the finest Indian food Ive ever had, but good better than other East Texas options. Service was poor. Had to ask for silverware, plates and napkins. Food came in shifts to table causing our party to awkwardly decide to eat while its hot or be polite. Also, pricey for portion size. Might go back but only if I get a serious craving for Indian.

We used to get excellent Indian food when we lived in northern California. Wherever there are technology companies and universities there is a solid Indian population. That just isn’t the case with Tyler so it’s a pleasure to find a really good Indian restaurant in this town. We have tried a variety of their dishes and expecially like the naan, butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala. We also like many of their sides and give Taj Mahal very high marks for food quality. The ambiance is just so-so but we generally go out to eat for the food, not the restaurant decor. Prices are very reasonable and service is good, but the flavors are outstanding.
