I only went here once. It’s convenient location for tacos in south Tyler, but the tacos are very dry. Maybe it was just a bad batch of beef tacos, but I had to smother my tacos in salsa to make them less dry, and it was still hard to eat. I’m not sure I’ll go back.
GREAT NO WORDS CAN EXPLAIN !
Best Taco Shack Around. I have lived in San Antonio and visited several Central American countries (Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua and Mexico), and I stand firm in my opinion that El Lugar is fantastic, AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Although the #7 is what they are famous for, I actually prefer the #3 (on flour). Yummo!
This place kills it! A taqueria with an amazing menu, assorted fruit waters, and Mexican sodas. The #7 will change your life. 2nd only to BBQ Hernandez in Tyler.
#7 heaven. Best place to eat in town. But not all locations are created equal. I’ve had some bad experiences at the one by Fat Catz. Mostly good experiences at the one on 5th street. And consistently good experiences (never a bad day) at the Gentry and South Broadway locations. If you live in Tyler and haven’t tried it – you are missing out. (btw, the south broadway location – and maybe others – has extended sizes for the #7 – XL, & XXL)
If you like real Mexican food look no further this is the place!!!
Truly Authentic Mexican Food. If you’re looking for ambiance to go with your food, don’t go here. However, if you’re craving authentic Mexican fast food (not Tex-Mex, and DEFINITELY not Taco Bell), this is THE place to go. My husband CRAVES their Super Quesadillas (which, contrary to its name, it more like a burrito). I love their red and green sauces as well. Their success has allowed them to expand to numerous locations throughout the Tyler city limits. Be sure to take notice, however; I know the one on Gentry Parkway only accepts cash. I’m not sure if this is the case at the other locations, though.
