Frustrated. I go to this place one to two times a week for fish tacos and margaritas. I usually go during the week. Decided to go on a Saturday night and was very disappointed. We were told there was a 15 minute wait. After waiting 20 minutes we noticed there were 8+ tables open. We asked if we could be seated and were told it would 15 minutes! I asked why 15 more minutes when there were so many tables open. I was told by the hostest the manager instructed her to not seat anyone. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager told me the kitchen was behind so the owner had instructed him to not seat anyone for 30 minutes. I asked if we could just be seated and eat chips and salsa while we waited to be able to order. I was told no. I asked the manager why we couldn’t be seated and not order as it wouldn’t cause an additional load on the kitchen. He just said sorry I have my orders I cannot seat anyone. I will probably not be returning to this restaurant. I do not want to spend my money at a restaurant that I have to beg to be served at.

Then refused to seat anyone for 30min because they couldn’t manage ticket times. All of this we were told was the owners decision to turn away business. This could be why they have such negative reviews.
Great Food nice view at nite. The food is great and the service was fast and politeAnd clean and also restrooms clean and a great view with all the windows day and nite.
Student. We enjoy going to Habanero’s, especially my husband. It is a nice neighboorhood restaurant and the staff are friendly, attentive and remember returning guests. However, their fish tacos are getting smaller and the last time I had a fish taco it wasn’t good. I didn’t even eat it. The other thing is their beer isn’t cold enough! I don’t care for their house margaritas (my husband likes them) so I drink the beer and am disappointed every time. Please make the beer colder! It’s just doesn’t take good when it isn’t cold enough.
Late lunch. We went to Habaneros on Basswood on Saturday for a late lunch and my boyfriend had his regular pulled pork tacos while I took it upon myself to try something new. BIG MISTAKE!! I had the beef nachos and I ate maybe 3 and that was it for me. The chips were stale, the beef was hard, and the cheese looked like it was put on there nuked then set aside while my boyfriends tacos were being made. I asked the server to bring me a to go box, since I figured I could give the nachos to my dog who by the way eats everything. Another big mistake, the next morning I woke up to my poor dog having the runs, and throwing up. I was kind of grateful that it wasn’t me but I still felt soo bad for the big guy. I have eaten there before and I have had good food but someone told me it was under new management but I didn’t take they were going to take the Fresh out of Habaneros. Cause after what I tasted that day there was noo way my nachos were fresh. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely not be going back there again 🙁
Best place to eat with kids, Food is great plus there beer prices are good Kenzi is good with mixed drinks will go there anytime
Worst Food Ever. Ok, maybe I’ve watched too many episodes of Restaurant Impossible but I was honestly scared to eat here after I saw ice cubes floating in the salsa. Made me question if they had accurate refrigeration going on the kitchen. The queso was nothing short of discusting with lumps in it and their rice was so salty that we couldn’t eat it. I question how this place can afford to keep their doors open. We were there on a Thursday night around 7:30 pm and there was NO ONE else when we arrived. When we were leaving they actually had 2 other tables. Pathetic attempt at Mexican food!
