I used to really like New China. Ive been here maybe five times, usually ordering off of the lunch menu. You order at the counter and they bring out the food to you. There used to be a woman who worked here who was not very friendly. I have not seen her the last couple of times over the past couple of years so maybe she is no longer working here. Anyway she was not very patient. Because of that I used to refer to this restaurant as Angry China. A younger girl has been working the counter since and she has been very nice. The food I have had here has been good. As others have noted the portions are large. For other than luncheon portions they would be easily be enough for two meals. The spicy entrees are not all that spicy but have had good flavor. The Hunan Chicken Ive had was good, just not much heat. I had the General Tsos Chicken luncheon portion today which came with either an egg roll or soup along with rice. The portion once again was sizable, with an abundance of sauce over the stir-fried chicken and an embarrassingly small piece of broccoli. I chose the egg roll over the soup and it was packed to the gills with fake crab, mung beans and veggies. It was tasty. They gave me fried rice though. I never order that. I didnt think of ordering the steamed rice because they usually ask me what kind of rice I want. I guess it was okay if you like fried rice. It was very greasy, mostly rice but there was scattered bits of vegetables as well.I would have left my review as just that, but just when I was finishing my meal, a mother and daughter who were dining next to me had an issue with their meal. The mother had found a paper clip in her food. The owner really gave the cook a browbeating and compensated the woman with a takeout dinner. With that I have decided not to return here. Thats too bad. For the most part the place had been good. Ive had to drop my rating too.

Super good and fresh! We were looking for a noodle shop but decided to give this a shot instead. The food was fresh and the portions were huge! We dined in and were served within minutes. Glad we stopped in, will definitely come back.
