We went after church and got there at 140pm and they said they wouldn’t serve us…Their website says closes at 2pm…I explained we all rushed from church and we know exactly what we want and this gentleman said he was the owner who looked like is was drugged up and said I don’t care where you came from and was very rude.I had my grand children with us who were so hungry..I won’t be going there ever again ….I told him he should change his hours then on the website that he closes at 130om… Guess he doesn’t care if he looses customers…We went to the Egg and I and it was amazing and they were so friendly….
Fair to Middlin’. There are a lot of reasons to like this diner. It’s easy to get to from either side of the road, that being N. Tarrant Parkway. There is no problem with parking. It’s in a small strip mall, so there are plenty of spaces to park. It has a clever interior design. and goes a step further with the retro look. Yes, it has the obligatory record albums plastered here, there and everywhere on the walls, and it goes without saying that you will see dozens of license plates and black and white photographs of people famous and otherwise, but it is what you don’t normally see that’s a kicker. They have put up a wall of curio cabinets enclosing various items from by-gone days. Each wooden and glass box contained a single throwback item such as a Crock-Pot, an early typewriter, or a pair of skates. They even had a 1980’s Atari box. The color scheme throughout is made up of burnt orange, tans, and browns. A CD jukebox may not have been from the 60’s, but the music certainly was. A lot a thought was put into the decoration of the dining area and it shows. Booths and table/chair setups line up perfectly and are not crowded together. The bathrooms at the back are set up with Batman on the men’s restroom and of course, Batgirl for the ladies. The food was passable. I had the griddle combo of two scrambled eggs, two sausage patties and two gigantic, fluffy pancakes. The pancakes were as large as they come. They dwarfed the rest of my meal. They came with two metal containers of syrup and it was more than I needed. They were super fluffy and I could have just had them for breakfast and I would have been happy. None of the food was piping hot, but it still was a bit more than tepid. The eggs were average. They were fresh, but the preparation was really nothing better than I could already do. Service was friendly, but lethargic. My meal came out to me in less than ten minutes. I was the first one here too. I was checked on a couple of times. Coffee was rewarmed once during the meal, and I turned it down the second time as I was waiting for my ticket. I thought my check was going to be brought to the table. I finally got the cashier’s attention to find out if my server was going to bring it, and she picked it up and waved that it was up there. OK. So I got up and paid. This is one of those places that’s not bad, and if I lived in the neighborhood, I’d be pleased. I have co-workers who live near here and love this place and the nostalgic feel it gives them. I can’t say that I would go out of my way to come here though.25 Oct, 2014Griddle Combo- Scrambled Eggs and Sausage. Includes two delicious ginormous pancakes (or French toast)
They lost a good customer today!. Terrible service, rude staff, can’t comment on the food because 45 minutes after ordering we gave up on getting our food!
Great!!. Clean with well maintained nostalgic decor. Friendly, great service at just the right pace. Food served HOT and delicious!! Side of fruit was serve cold and seemed to have been just cut that day — flavorful & fresh!! Wish they were open for dinner!!
Tried Stevie’s on a whim. We will be back! Blue plate special was pot roast with mashed potatoes and green beans. Quite yummy! Cheese steak sandwich was fresh an delicious.
Meh. Very average. Expected a little more, but I guess we got what we paid for. Service was slow and a bit forgetful. 2 middle-aged ladies came in and sat themselves down and were not served for a good 10 minutes. A waitress came to serve the table next to them and probably assumed they had been taken care of. They left without saying anything. Bottom line: food is average, service is meh, Bacon’s or Snooty Pig does it better.
It’s a cute place with great potential. The hostess was very sweet. The place was busy, but we were seated quickly. The server came over right away and took our order. She offered to bring my son some Cheerios to tied him over before the food came. 30 minutes later she never came with the Cheerios and no food in sight. When we finally did get the food, it was ok. It wasn’t very warm, but we were so hungry we didn’t complain. Not sure that we will go back.
