Veracruzanos supreme nachos and chicken fried steak.. Go to Kenos! We had the Veracruzanos Supreme Nachos and the Chicken Fried Steak w onion rings. The nachos were excellent. Hefty covering of beans, picadillo ground beef, cheese, jalapeos. A meal in itself. The chicken fried steak, the most frequently ordered item according to the waitress, was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Tender, well seasoned, great batter. Topped with excellent cream gravy. Ask for a bit more, if you like gravy. A huge tasty yeast dinner roll. Basic salad. Then, a massive cinnamon roll, sliced and grilled. Big enough for 4 people! Delicious!01 Jan, 2015The Cinnamon Roll. Huge, they start with great tasting dough/bread, add lots of cinnamon (lots! As a good cinnamon roll should have) and top with sugar sauce/icing. Ask for the grilled version.

I’m not sure if this is true, but I think this place has gotten new owners… again. I ordered some quickies a while back, and boy did they skimp on those quickies. Each quicky was commonly included with 2 rolls, now its one. Even the chicken fried steak wasn’t really chicken fried much. Keno’s has changed a lot.

Kenos was a place of memories, diner food and rolls. Now its just a washed up restaurant, that gets by. The interior and management has changed. The last time I went there I was refused service. Mind you, it was 20mins till closing time, but all I wanted was a coffee and something sweet. To my amazement the lady at the door told me that they not sell sweets. Not a cinnamon roll, not a pie, not a single ounce of sugar in the whole joint. Their loss, I took my money elsewhere.
