We finally found a brunch spot in San Antonio. Despite it’s appearance – tucked away in a strip mall – Hop and Vine offers a brunch packed with interesting twists on the traditional breakfast. We will be back!
Definitely a modern day gastropub. Extensive beer and wine list, but I was very impressed with the menu. Although the menu was very limited, the dishes seemed to be prepared with a focus on the flavor profile in mind. I got the shrimp and grits, and it lived up to its yelp reputation. The deep fried grits, well seasoned shrimp, and the added blend of seasoning from the natural herbs, spices and veggies made this dish a great tasting meal. Only down side, the dining area is a bit cramped and narrow, but the ambience was relaxing with the contemporary table layouts and a great mixture of music which surprisingly included old school soul sounds of R&B. The waitress was also very nice and attentive to my table.
