This place is amazing. I’m not from the area and asked my hair stylist where to go and he recommended here. I got gumbo, shrimp, and wings and everything tastes so tasty and fresh. I will definitely be coming back.

Expect to get your hands dirty. The seafood was good. We tried the fried crawfish tails, crab legs, empanada, oyster basket, potatoes and corn. For the crawfish tails, we chose the lemon pepper seasoning. From everything we ate, we enjoyed the crawfish tails the most. For the crab legs, we chose the Cajun seasoning. The Cajun seasoning is a tad bit spicy. The cashier pointed out that the butter garlic seasoning was spicier. We didn’t try it. Beware that they only offer plastic utensils. They do have a metal crab cracker (must leave ID with staff to get one) for the crab legs, but without the right utensils, it makes it difficult to eat. Next time I will skip the crab legs. The empanada was mostly bread. I wouldn’t recommend these. The oyster basket was just ok. They have plenty of seasonings and dipping sauces. They also have warm butter. Best of all, you can bring your own alcohol beverage. That is a big plus.

The original LA Crawfish (LA stands for Louisiana, not Los Angeles) is in Houston TX and has expanded now to San Antonio. I’ve been here twice and both times were good experiences. The food is an eclectic mix of various types of boiled seafood (crawfish, shrimp, crab, etc) in a buttery seasoning mixed together in a clear plastic bag, gumbo, several flavors of chicken wings, and a few varieties of pho. On my first visit I had the barbecue shrimp which was good but over cooked. On my second visit I had the boiled shrimp in a spicy cajun sauce. I also elected to have an andouille sausage, a corn on the cob and two potatoes added to the bag for an additional cost. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The corn and potatoes soaked up the spicy seasoning and were spicier than the shrimp. The andouille sausage lacked flavor. My wife had the pho and some gumbo and said they were both really good. My son had the cajun chicken wings and said they were good too. So the next time you’re in the mood for some Vietnamese crawfish or pho give LA Crawfish a try.
