Not the best BBQ around, but pretty good. Love their creamed corn though, perfectly savory and sweet. The brisket is a bit dry and flavorless. The turkey and sausage are juicy and fresh most days. Overall, a satisfying BBQ experience. jetsetbeaudets.blogspot.com
Some of the best brisket I’ve had in a long time. Coleslaw is delicious as well. Nice home backyard family bbq feel and atmosphere. Eat outside for a enjoyable experience.
Wonderful BBQ And take out is a family picnic must!! Brisket and creamed corn are the best ever. Don’t forget extra of their perfect TX style BBQ sauce!
I have been to Rudy’s several times. All in all the food is good, but it is very pricey. Their brisket is good, as are the ribs, and sausage. On the meat some sections are overly spice rubbed so you get a big hit of the rub in some bites. The chopped is ok, it’s nice that it’s cheaper, and handy for making a pulled pork style sandwich, but it is very saucy. As I said the brisket is very good, flavorful, falls apart, but is $16 per pound, but brisket isn’t cheap in general. The sides are all pretty good. Their potato salad is very good, straight forward potato salad, but good flavor. The coleslaw, is also good, goes great on a chop or brisket sandwich. The cream corn people rave about, and it was good, but not my favorite side, I wish it had a little hit of spice or something. The beans were fine, but nothing wowing. The food come with sauce, or as they say sause, bread, pickles, and onions. Bread is standard white, pickles are pretty basic, could use some more flavor and spice, the sause is pretty good, and the onions are, well sliced white onions. You have to pay extra for jalapeos, which is kind of annoying when you are dropping 16-17 per pound for the meats, I have to pay 50 cents for a jalapeo? So all in all, it’s good, but be prepared to drop some money for the food, though that’s the same at most BBQ places. A big kuddos, in my opinion, they do give military discount so that knocks a bit off.
The number listed for this Rudy’s is not correct. In order to get in touch with the Westover Hills location we had to dial 210-653-7839. Using the number listed here, we sat on the phone 30 minutes before giving up.
WOW what a let down!. I guess I just don’t get it. Drove 1200 miles. Wanted to try some really good Texas Style BBQ. Rudy’s was highly rated. We had both kinds of ribs (baby back and pork). Tough, overboard smokey, inconsistent some were loaded with spices while others had very little.I bought some peach cobbler, was Ice cold. Who servers you cold cobbler??? I guess Rudy’s does. The baked beans were not sweet, no bacon in them. It was sad really. The Creamed corn was about they only thing they did right. I don’t even like creamed corn but theirs was excellent! But hey you can’t make a meal on creamed corn.I have been to TX Roadhouse in Greenville SC and got a way better meal than here!Easter blessings,John 20:29
