We never got to taste the food. We walked in and they told us to sit anywhere. We waited for 10 minutes for a menus while 3 people stood at the register talking and playing on their phones. RUDE!!!! We walked out!!!
Good!. The food is pretty good. the only downer is that they use nacho chips as tortilla chips and it totally throws the whole experience off. They really need to replace them with tortilla chips and the place will be that much better. wait staff is pretty good but they can be really slow at times and come off as if they were in a bad mood. kind of pricy but definitely worth it!!!
This place is great! If the tortilla & chile smell in the parking lot don’t sell you first, the food will! Large menu, good prices, and the food is awesome!
Mexican Tacos!. I went to El Norteno 2 on Southwest Parkway & Kemp just to see whether they have authentic Mexican tacos and was quite happy to see they do. I ordered the four taco plate and tried four different meats. My very favorite was the al pastor tacos. I will definitely be going back for more of the Mexican tacos and will try some of their other dishes as well.
Great Authentic Mexican Food!. OK, this is the most authentic Mexican food place in town for sure, although I can think of at least one other nearby that comes close. I will say this is the best price for the food. I had a large bowl of Menudo when I went ( if your not willing to eat that, your not eating authentic mexican food, just go to El Chico) and it was AWESOME! Deep rich flavors, just the right amount of spice, and was provided with the traditional citrus/cilantro/onion containers to make it my own. My wife had enchiladas with shredded pork, potatoes, and cotija cheese (that ought to tip you off to authenticity), and a red sauce and said it was excellent as well. If you look around you while your eating there, you’ll know this is where the Hispanic population come to eat, as well as the in-the-know locals. We did wait nearly 30 minutes to check out, but the food is WAY worth it. As someone from Louisiana, I expect restaurants that are steeped in culture and take their identity into the cuisine, and this place delivers!
Good Food. Food is delicious, service can be slow if the place is packed, especially on the weekend. But worth the wait
Not open on a Tues. evening. I don’t know if they are still there or not
