I grew up in small towns and this place reminded me of home. It is one of the best places for breakfast that is not a corporate chain. Great BBQ too! This is a classic American dinner and I am in love! Service was great as well.

Busy but Denver Omelet was oily and had canned mushrooms. Waitress was very nice but she couldn’t make change. Bill was $10.22 and I gave her $20.25, got back $9.03. Didn’t want to bother to argue. Coffee was extremely good!!

This place was a mistake beyond mistakes. We entered the restaurant and waited awkwardly for a few minutes before the waitress in the front who saw us walk in told us to have a seat anywhere; and no, there was no welcome. We then sat for over 5 minutes with no greeting from multiple waitresses walking past our table. After about 10 minutes, we finally got menus. We ordered our food and the waitress was not interested at helping us at all with choices. My fianc ate more than half of her waffle before she finally got her syrup that our waitress kept forgetting; probably because she was too busy flirting with the two trucker guys behind us. My biscuit was dry, gravy was bland and tasted canned, and my hash browns tasted like frozen, grocery store hash browns. Bad service, worse food, but the building was nice. I give Hwy Cafe one star for their facility, everything else was deplorable!

Nice Place. We’ve eaten here a few times and it’s a great breakfast place. What you’d expect for a greasy diner…but don’t think all the food is greasy. The biggest suprise was the tab…super cheap. It seriously was very good. We’ll eat here again.

Horrible customer service. Its an open kitchen so you can see the kitchen staff. They are so trashy looking, we were afraid to eat our food and they made us feel uncomfortable. Our all you can eat catfish was $12 per person, and the waitress brought us cold, limp fries. When I asked her for some fresh fries the fry cook made a snide remark about us. Like I said, its an open kitchen. You can hear all of the kitchen staff’s conversation. I’ll never visit this establishment again and i’m sharing my experience with everyone I know. I truly believe in good customer service, and if you don’t possess the most basic social skills, you have no business working with the public. Go be a janitor. And management needs to be in control of who they hire.

Excellent food…huge menu. Fast and friendly seasoned waitresses. If you like hole in the wall hidden gems…this is a five star find.

The wait for a table is worth it. I ended up sharing a table with a very nice couple & had a great breakfast with great company.
