My favorite restaurant when I lived here in the late 70s. Everything was pretty much as I remembered. Quality and cooking of the steak was excellent. Only negative comment concerns service. Food was served lukewarm which was a significant detractor from an otherwise perfect meal. In addition, the waiter would disappear for extended time periods, leaving customer iced tea glasses empty. The manager may want to more closely supervise employees. Again, a great place to eat and a steak that sets the standard, as far as I’m concerned. This review pertains to the evening of July 5, 2015.
Filet Mignon, Baked Potato. I substituted the baked potato with a salad and cottage cheese with a pineapple slice. The Filet was cooked perfectly the whole meal was amazing! Even topped off with plain cheesecake only ate half of it the slice was so big. Just amazing 🙂
I was serve a cold, bloody, raw piece of meat. Enough said. I will not go back.
The service was wonderful however the food was mediocre at best. The salad was good and the mashed potatoes were good. My steak and potatoes came out together on a plate that seemed more like the size of a saucer. My steak was cooked correctly but wasn’t very tasteful. I would much rather go to Santa Fe Steakhouse or Lonestar Steakhouse for a steak. The flavor is much better. The parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. We won’t be returning anytime soon.

They do it right!. I’m in agreement with the other positive reviews here. This place is simple, rustic, obviously a Wichita Falls Institution. Service was southern-nice-as-can-be. The menu is steaks front and center, your choice of cut. I had the smaller sized rib eye and it was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and had very little fat for this cut. The salad was good, the baked potato was good and the prices were fine. I’m a fan!
