Cracker Barrel = Tastless frozen food. I don’t care for the Cracker Barrel at all. We go there because my daughter and my sister like them. There food taste like a TV dinner. I can go to the super market for that and save a bundle of money. I like the shop in the front, I always buy a couple of backs of Black Jack gum. Other than that it’s a waist of time.
Good. While I would prefer to go somewhere else to eat, my wife loves this place. I don’t complain to much because they do have good food. I don’t understand why chicken and dumplings are so popular, but whatever. The mashed potatoes and gravy are great and the other foods I’ve tried are good too. The country store is a fun place, but we almost always spend an extra $10-15 in the store. I’m a sucker for old fashioned candy.
Comfort food at its best!. I LOVE Cracker Barrel! The Chicken and Dumplings and Country fried chicken are amazing! I love the fun country store too! I’m a southern girl at heart, and this is what I imagine southern cooking to be!
Love these Restaurants!. Great food, friendly staff, quick and accurate service. Could eat here every day.
This Place Gives Southern Cooking a Bad Name. We ate breakfast at the St. George Cracker Barrel during a four day stay and as someone who grew up in the south, I was embarrassed. This was southern cooking as designed by some New York City marketing outfit that has all of the foods pre cooked and canned in New Jersey and shipped all over the country. Any Denny’s, Village Inn or Truck Stop Cafe, blows this place away. Everything we had tasted like it came from a can, box or big plastic jug, went into the microwave and onto our plates. Specifically, the biscuits were dense, stale and flavorless, the bacon and sausage had a chemical taste, the ham was dried out, and worst of all was the gravy. If you can’t make your own gravy, then why bother. It was flavorless, gooey and had a faint chemical taste. I’m certain that it is either canned or comes as a ready mix. Just a horrible store selling fake country merchandise with a side business of selling fake country food.
Great food. Especially the steak
Great Breakfast & Dinner. It is always a must stop as we head to Vegas! Great breakfast and the hashbrown casserole is a must!Good, down home cookin’ and great value, as well! After the meal, be sure to sit in a rocker out front. It completes the visit, nicely.
