  This is a local hangout that has decent, lower cost food. It’s not anything spectacular, but a lot of the people around here still go which sometimes really makes the place busy which says something in itself. For a dining experience that is truly middle-class, but fulfilling and friendly, this is a place to consider.

  Horrible place. Felt like we were an inconvenience even the lady at the desk said the waitresses don’t like big parties and charged us a 15% extra charge… They were very unprofessional I am a waitress myself from Denver and have never been to a place like this I used to come here when I was little and loved it I will never be back again I don’t recommend it to anyone… I’d rather go to McDonald’s this place is horrible stay far away…. Unless you like to feel unwelcome

  The Star isn’t a star anymore. Star used to be a run of the mill mom and pop, place. Nothing great, but ok to have a bite. Went in there 3 times last month and a half…Well the inside is a dump….dirty and dingy…and that is being nice…I understand cost go up, but the have taken the cost way up, smaller plates…you know what I mean, Took my grand kids in, she is 4 so I asked for a extra plate so we could share my eggs and toast…they wanted to charge me the cost of a kids meal… But what takes the cake, watch a customer chair fall apart, and I mean fall apart. No the person was not over 115 pounds. but all the tables and chairs are like that. Then the live fight between the owner and cook…..and yes there was lots of shouting, etc… I will never step back into here again. I have been going there for over 24 years, BUT NEVER AGAIN….28 Oct, 2012Not so good. Used to be a nice place to go…it is getting run down…the decor doesn’t match anythig…rug or if that is what you would call it is thin, the rest room well were not the cleanest in town…Waited almost 40 minutes from the time i ordered…the help was doing more talking with themselves…not going back..

  Not what i expected. Me and my husband have been going to star for a few year and now we take our kids there too, but lately when we have been going for breakfast the food has been awful and the service i honestly think was the worse in town. The is getting kinda dirty, and while eating one time we were distracted by the hostess who was yelling at the waitress. This was very unproffesional. I use to love this place but now i am very disappointed with the food as well as the service, all the great waitresses are not there anymore.

  Great for breakfast anytime. This is a great place to go for breakfast. Breakfast is definitely one of my favorite meals and if I want a huge, fresh, hot, tasty breakfast at a GREAT price with awesome service I drive out to Layton and go to Star Cafe. Portions are huge and prices are low. The food is cooked fresh to order. It reminds me of places I would go as a kid and get all of the different flavors of syrup for my pancakes. I love the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, the sausages are real link sausage and not brown and serve. The service is always fast and friendly. The atmosphere is not the best but I don’t go here for atmosphere, I go here for good honest food.

  Breakfast is good. Prices are great….but….. I will not go back. The last 3 times the service was BAD. VERY slow delivery of your meal. You have to ask twice for things. And you call that butter for your pancakes?? I think it’s more like Crisco with yellow coloring! It was nasty.What I received this morning was not what I ordered. Too bad because I do like their breakfasts but cannot deal with the bad service.
