Hmmmm. Got pork barbacoa taco and it was good. Also got veggie burrito with fajita veggies and the veggies were raw… which was really unexpected. Had I known they were fully raw I wouldn’t have gotten them. Crunchy onions and green peppers are too strong. Also I ordered online and sent someone about 25 minutes each way to get the food and I paid for chips and salsa and extra salsa and a dressing and they forgot all of it. Paid about 5 dollars for nothing. It was OK. But Chipotle’s veggie burrito is 10x better. Wouldn’t drive 25 mins again for it.

Fresh… Being a die hard Cafe Rio fan I never really thought of trying out Barbacoa, but one day my co-workers and I decided to give it a try. I was utterly impressed! To me the prices were near the same as Cafe Rio, and maybe the portions were a bit smaller, but that is totally fine as I can never make it through all of a Cafe Rio salad anyways and they don’t keep well so I end up throwing it out. To me the ingredients used at Barbacoa taste more fresh to me than Cafe Rio and the atmosphere at Barbacoa is much more pleasant, you don’t have a bunch of people who don’t speak english very well yelling at you for your order like at Cafe Rio which lately makes it worth it for me to bypass Cafe Rio for Barbacoa.
Portions small but the sweet pork burrito is delicious.
The portions are smaller than they used to be. Now I only buy the soup as that is the best item on the menu. I’ve been a few times where the staff behind the counter is more interested in their personal conversation than making your food.
Pretty good … But only for when Cafe Rio is closed.
