Don’t bother!. The sushi and service were both horrible. I don’t know which was worse. Don’t waste your money or time.
Plan forever for sushi. We went on Saturday evening the 27th of September (14)… the wait was LONG (for food)… we sat at a table for 15 minutes before we were even greeted by a waitress we snagged. There was a table to our side that had dinner in front of 2 of the people and the other 2 were still waiting. The first two completely finished when one of the others got their food and she was done when the fourth got his. Behind us was another table that had been waiting for over an hour to get their food. (sushi) nothing hot. There was no greeter she was doing take out orders. Our waitress seemed to be relatively new. We got one roll which by the way was warm (it was a cold roll) but when delivered it was almost spooky to eat. The flavor was amazing. We sat for another 40 minutes waiting on the 2 rolls we had also ordered. They need to have a front of the house manager and an expeditor… the service as far as food coming out IS the WORST I HAVE EVER HAD… the food was good when it decided to swim upstream for preparation. I guess they have to go out and fresh catch all of the fish they serve. With 4 Sushi chefs the production stinks.. I frequent a place with one chef and rolls literally fly out of there… If they do not do something about the lack of management I do not see this place surviving long. Which is very sad… the food was good but NOT worth the horrendous wait. Our Waitress was a doll but her newness and awkwardness did not help the situation the kitchen put her in. Oh BTW, the grill was down so they had only tempura and sushi…. (there should have been plenty of hands on deck)Shame on management….
Very Good & Improving. I had the lunch chicken Bento Box and my wife the lunch Sashimi. I don’t usually eat hardly any salad dressing, but the Ginger dressing is the best Asian dressing I’ve ever tasted! Absolutely fabulous. You’ve got to try it. Ling Ling said it’s made with apples, oranges, honeydew mellon, carrots and ginger. The California roll and sashimi were up to standard, as was the terriyaki chicken. I ordered the shrimp tempura as well as getting tempura with my Bento Box. The shrimip was fine, but the batter on the vegetables was very heavy. I spoke to the waitress about it when she asked how things were, and she said they would fix it. Her father owns the retaurant. We’ll defintely be back.
Best Sushi. As a sushi lover, I have been to several sushi restaurants in the Davis county and Salt Lake area. And I have to say that Sushi Monster is my favorite. I have a shellfish allergy and they have modified my rolls every time with no mistakes (where I have almost been served food I was allergic to, after specifying how important it is, at both Fuji and Mikado.) Plus Sushi monster is less expensive and you get more for what you pay for. I highly recommend their vegas rolls (sans crab for me).
8/10 will go again. Went with one other. Nobody but us in the restaurant. It was a great place and the food was good. Miso soup was miso soup. I ordered the teriyaki beef and it was great, portions were very large and it had great flavor. I will order this again for sure. Wife had 2-3 sushi rolls and she like them all a lot but i don’t recall the type of rolls or what was in them.
I’ve had better. It wasn’t disgusting, just a little on the mushy side and less flavorful than we’re used too. I’d go to Fuji Sushi if you are in the area, it’s better.
