I was really excited when the dickies franchise came to town, we seem to go in and out with barbecue joints here in St. George. I’ve been to dickies several times hoping that it will get better. And they just seem to remain fast food mediocre. I’ll get the brisket and two side dishes and they end up not being what you hope for in barbecue. The smoke never really comes through on the meat in the sides are all too processed.

Disappointing. I had high hopes when I saw a b-b-q resturant open on this side of town. I really wanted something new to enjoy that was close by. My husband and I went and both got pulled pork sandwiches. I had the loaded potatos and he had the mac and cheese as sides. The order was made wrong, My husband asked for no onion and I asked for no pickles and we both had these items on our sandwiches. the cashier just told me to take the pickle off! Since the sandwich came with no sauce on it, the bun tasted like pickle. I didn’t like that I had to add the sauce. The sides were very small, just a few bits. I would not go back.
Second try. Two strikes. 1st time, the guy who takes your order called us over as he was still getting his station set up. He asked what we wanted 4 times! He never listened once, he was just stalling and that is all he could come up with. Finally took our order for real. The we had to repeat it at each station as we went along. Ridiculous!!! Food was OK. They give you free icecream … but it isn’t worth that much. 2nd try, we waited in line & decided what we wanted. Got up to order. They were out of their signature item, brisket. Both briskets actually. And chicken. And ham. All they had left was ribs, pulled pork, turkey & sausage. How do you run out of your signature dish? We left. Went to Tiki Island Broiler where the food AND service are both fantastic. Save your time and money. .
Average. I think they lose some of the BBQ joint feel since it is a franchise. The food was decent, but for BBQ I will go somewhere else. The all you can eat ice cream isn’t enough to send me back.
Disappointing. I was really looking forward to this BBQ. I guess they have been around for a while. However, my bun was dry , as was the meat. Two strikes, similar experience in Orem.
