Quality has really gone down. We went to El Pollo Loco for dinner. We went to this location when it first opened and we really liked it. During what should have been a busier dinner rush there were only 2 other people in there (should have left at that point). The chicken we bought was small and very very dry (it had obviously been cooking for a very long time waiting for someone to buy it).We left hungry and disappointed. What a waste of money on bad quality and bad tasting food. We won’t be back to this location and I wouldn’t be surprised if they closed it down soon.
Downhill slide! I can’t believe how much this place has gone downhill in the last 6 months. I used to come here quite a bit and it was always good. Today it was absolutely terrible. There were only 8 other here when I came in. That was during the lunch rush. Should have been my first clue. Me and one other person ordered and it took 15 minutes to get our food. That was after both of us went and asked if they lost our order. Not one other person ordered in that same 15 min. Food was terrible. LARGE chicken bones in my burrito. Rude staff.
Not so bueno. A 2nd visit to this location confirms inconsistency and poorly delivered product. Its namesake entree, roasted chicken was very dry and lacking in flavor. And their Premium side of BBQ black beans flavor was lost in too much BBQ sauce. Their flame-roasted corn was served hot and tasty to one person in our group and cold with some sort of dressing on it to another person in our group. It was not eaten. Value for money not quite–a 2-pc breast and wing combo for $6.99 did not have much meat on the breast, and the wing was just skin and bone.I agree with riverrunner, buy only the chicken tacos al carbon and a drink. Even the $5 combo meals are short on taste and value. The only side like by our group was the sweet corn cake.
Love the chicken. I absolutley love the chicken here. The sides are okay, but nothing great. Some are good (bbq beans), some not so much (the fries). The green avacado sauce they serve on the side is super tasty. And as some of the other posters have mentioned, the place always seems to be messy, tables in need of wiping, etc. Something needs to be done about that. But for me at least, it all comes back to the chicken. And I must say, I really, really enjoy it.
It’s not so great. Everyone that I talked to says this place is great but it’s okay… It’s nice to try it but nothing that I would crave for later on.
Agree with riverrunner’s review. There was quite a bit of hype when they came to Utah. I’d be OK if they left. Nothing worth going back for.
