Great salads and smothered burritos!. Durango’s is very fresh tasting and digests easily. I love the sweet pork smothered burrito with Chile Verde sauce. The sweet pork salad is also very good. The meat is juicy and delicious. I love that they offer a whole wheat tortilla.

Setting The Record Straight. The short review on this place is Durango’s is simply an attempt to copy or ripoff Cafe Rio. The problem is, Durango’s does a lousy job of trying to mimic what Cafe Rio does. I would have preferred that Durango’s just do their own thing and be unique – which is what I thought this place would be. Beef and Pork were both dry, sinewy and chewy. Sauce flavor for the burritos and enchiladas is lacking. Pico and other salsas are weak-tasting and lack texture. I wished I would have just gone to Cafe Rio if I wanted this type of food.

I absolutely love durango’s! I’ve eaten there for years and never once be disappointed! I can’t say the same for Cafe Rio. I’ve been disappointed there several times. The pork salad is my all time favorite. I have eaten out a lot, but I never get bored with their food at durango’s.

Try the Quesadilla Meal. This place is really yummy and doesn’t have the long lines of Cafe Rio. Also, the house dressing is tastier.

Best of the Smothered Burrito Joints. In a city saturated with smothered burritos (Cafe Rio, Bajio (closed), Costa Vida, Durango’s) this would be the best, followed by Costa Vida. Don’t believe the Cafe Rio hype. 7 out of 10.
