Hope things get better…. My husband and I have always been big fans of the Halibut Fish and Chips, that is until the prices went up awhile back. Now our frequent visits have become rare and that makes me sad. We recently went back to find the free bread and butter has changed, not sure why when the original was good, but this wasn’t too big an issue. The Halibut fish and chips are still yummy, but 3 small pieces for 16.99 is a bit much. In the past the french fries were pretty limp unless you asked for them to fry them twice or longer, now the new fries are definitely crispy but they don’t have that fresh potato taste anymore. My main request is to make the Face Plant Ale available year round instead of just in November/December. It would be a reason to stop in more often. Oh, and drop prices! I still recommend Hoppers to my friends.
Fried pickles and fish and chips great. Pizza pretty perfect.Beer still cold and flavorful. Fast friendly service.
Shake Down. If you feel like getting a shake down when ordering a beer, go ahead and visit Hoppers. The waitress asked my wife for her ID, looked at it and then asked her to leave it out on the table and she would be back. Minutes later a second employee (host?) comes to our table, reviews her ID and then asked for mine, mind you I am 46. How about 1 person ID? When asking the host about this upon leaving, he said two pairs of eyes are better than one. I’ve never had this experience anywhere. Either they believe their servers are idiots or need eye exams, or they think their patrons are fooling them.From there, the menus were crusty and greasy and matched the table’s presentation.The food was average, but everything tasted worse after the opening act.The only positive was the 5 minute wait, go figure…
My wife and I tried the place twice. Their hostesses do a good job and their staffs selling skills are great, but their managers attitude sucked. I think his name was Jose or Juan he hid his name tag when he talked to us. My wife had the cheesesteak and it was butt. I had the wings and they were okay. Great concept, but overall we were upset that we gave them two tries.
Not sure if we went to the same place as some of the reviews posted here. Tonight the service was great and the duty manager visited every table in our section and in the bar to check on our meals and service. Food was good and came at just the right time. We had the smoked salmon tostada app and it was awesome. I had fish tacos and other than slightly limp tortillas they were really tasty. The beer is good for what it is. It’s hard to make true style microbrews at only 3.2% alcohol. Over all good service, good food and reasonable prices for what you get.
Nothing special. Very bland food and ok beer. The fries were the best part of my meal.
