Found this place driving by on Christmas Eve. The food and service was incredible. The portions are huge and inexpensive. We are from Hopland Ca and there is no Chinese restaurants within 150 miles with food and service this good. Highly recommend Sweet Ginger. R&D.
The comments here are really confusing. I cannot see how anyone would give this restaurant a positive review. This was simply the worst Chinese food I have ever bought. I chose the Fried Pork Ribs. They were not ribs. They were the pork chops the cooks trimmed all the meat off for other pork dishes. I paid $12 for deep fried bones. The Shrimp in Garlic sauce tasted like yesterday’s special. Most of the other reviewers got the service correct though, it was not friendly at all.
I thought I had already reviewed this restaurant.Go. The food is excellent. I concur the service is Chinese. If you want something, ask for it.
Authentic… even the service. Sweet ginger is definitely THE MOST AUTHENTIC Chinese food place you can get in Salt Lake. Keep in mind though, the restaurant kind of runs as how it would in Asian countries. So don’t hesitate to flag people down if you need something, they likely won’t come to you to take your order or fill your drinks unless you do that. Also, don’t fixate on having just one server for your table, feel free to grab anyone of them
Authentic. After living in China for 8 years we constantly crave good Chinese food. We finally found it. We’ve gone 3 times and had good service each time. Even if the service wasn’t that great, the food is delicious and worth the weird decor or workers assuming you can’t use chopsticks, etc. Great menu, tons of dishes, just like a real Chinese restaurant.
Horrible. I just went in and got an order to go. I ordered house chow mein and beef and scallions, totally around $18. When I got home and opened my boxes I had a large box of fried rice instead of chow mein and the beef and scallions has no flavor. I feel like I just wasted my time and money and would not recommend to anyone.
Not a very good place to go if you are expecting great service. Food is absolutely wonderful (hot and sour soup, yum). So we walk in and notice we are the only caucasians, no problem, they seat us and take our chopsticks and bring us forks. Nobody elses got taken. We order after about a half hour wait and are then ignored the whole meal, no drink refills, no how is the food. We watch the asian families being waited on, lots of drinks, etc. another caucasian family is seated, they also take their chopsticks and replace them with forks. So thats when im starting to feel some racism going on, straight up. The family notices this and after waiting for about twenty minutes just get up and leave, muttering about racism. Time to go still no drink refills after over an hour and a half, even though the waitress looked at us quite a few times. Finally have to get up and ask the waitress for the check and to go boxes. She looks at us plops them down and just walks away. Long story short, no tip and never ever going back.
