I’m told new ownership recently. The ramen is outstanding!
High expectations- I was seriously let down :(. After all of the articles I’ve read lately about this place in foodie Utah mags I was expecting something good. Let me just start by saying the ramen was an epically bad experience. It tasted like they opened a package of cheap top ramen, threw it in some broth for a bit, added the other mediocre toppings and served. The sushi was not good at all and took forever to get to us. The nori had this wet, very chewy texture that I couldn’t even swallow. It ended up wadded all over my plate like chewing gum. Such a bummer. I was really hoping this place had good ramen, and as for the sushi I’ll stick with Takashi! On to the next.
Extraordinary sushi. Fabulous and fresh. I am fussy about sushi and have never had a bite food at Kobe that has not met my standards. Kudos to Mike, the owner.
I’d rather eat panda express. This place is awful! The food is overpriced, service is average and the portions are too small. The only thing i liked it the way the inside of the restaurant is decorated. other than that, it was awful!
Kobe Rocks!. Withi this new owner, Mike at Kobe, everything has changed! His sushi is so fresh, not to mention he flies in fish twice a week, and Ramen, Japanese noodles that he actually learned in Japan is so yummy. I come from a big city and have tasted varity of food from fast food to authentic dishes. I try any new restaurants in valley and truly enjoy Kobe’s food and atomospher!
Terrific Sushi. I just moved here and never went before the change in ownership. But I can say that the new owner is really doing a nice job with the place. The sushi is creative and well executed. The chefs are all very friendly and engaging when you sit at the sushi bar. We go to Kobe at least once a week and it is our new favorite restaurant.
