RUN, don’t walk.. The food is simply not good. Pretty gross, actually. There are literally dozens of places, maybe even hundreds, in the Salt Lake area you could go to get better food for less money.
This place was so rude to my friend. We were on our way and he was standing in line for us. When we got there we were asked to leave and my friend was treated like a criminal. Dont go to this place service sucks.
Terrible Customer Service. I stood in line for 30 min only to be sent to the back of the line. When I approached the check-in desk I was asked how many were in my group. I said I was just paying for myself. He persisted how many were in my group. I said that I had some friends that would meet me later (I wasn`t sure how many would be in the group). He told me that I had to go to the back of the line and wait for each person in my group to get there before he would seat me. Very rude and unprofessional. I took my group to a Denny`s down the street and tipped them generously.
Wahoo!. Hey, this place is always croweded – it is good food- turnover on buffet food is essential. Pricing is good, food is plentiful, General Tsaos Chicken is tasty, love the batter dipped chicken and shrimp with sauces, good dessert bar and salad bar. And they have Mongolian. I guess you could find something wrong with any place you visit but this place serves its purpose to fill a buffet loving body. Wahoo, bring on the shrimp.
Well..duh. It’s a Chinese buffet; what else is to be expected besides bland? Just like any other buffet, Chinese Gourmet was nothing to shout about. The food was common Chinese dishes: orange chicken, general tso’s chicken, mongolian beef, etc. I already think these dishes are boring and never even consider ordering them. But since I was at a buffet I tried a little bit of everything. Some of the food was cold, which makes the sauce seep into the inch-thick layer of breading and make it a soggy mess. The meat was generally pretty dry so even when I picked off the breading I didn’t enjoy what I was eating. Really I wasn’t surprised to have this kind of result from a buffet. It’s just sort of become the norm.
I’ve seen more Chinese food at a Mexican reaturant! Very poor choice in Chinese food what was there was old and dry, except the pot stickers which were soggy. The manager did refund my 7.50 so I give him credit for that. He is mostly going for the Mongolian grill theme so the name should be changed to reflect this. Chinese Gourmet is far from the truth!
