Ate there today. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked. The English chips were also very tasty. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great. Got our freshly made coleslaw when we were done with our meal and never saw the staff for a water refill. Anyway the reason I will not return is that the waiter was carrying a handgun on his belt. The neighborhood isn’t that great so if he is that concerned for his safety I sure don’t need to be there. It didn’t make me feel safer at all. By the way the atmosphere is also very nice. I guess the owner should consider what the customers think of this practice.
Fish and chips, thumbs up.. Found this family owned treat of a restaurant while looking for fish and chips locally. The fish basket was mixed with catfish and cod by choice. done perfectly. recommend
Excellent food!!!!. I tried the deep fried talapia po’boy sandwich. Sooooo good!!! It’s my new favorite. I love everything I’ve tried on the menu and the customer service is out of this world.Every time I come in, they treat me like family. They always remember my name. There isn’t anything that I’ve tried that I haven’t loved.
I had the cod fish and chip. The fish was really good quality and big pieces. I am excited to go back and try other dishes on their menu.
Really enjoyed this place! Batter was great, and loved the chips! Portions were really big, 2 piece of cod was plenty. Coleslaw was a little odd, but am looking forward to going back!
Not the best first impression…. I was so excited to try this place on a recommendation. I ordered 2 pieces of cod with chips and coleslaw + 1 oyster to go because I had to get back to work. My mistake.Pros: counter service was friendly and helpful, fish fry batter is delicious, and they understand the whole fish and chips with malt vinegar thing, so gave me a cup of malt vinegar to goCons: when I got back to my office, which is a two minute drive, I opened up my to-go box and NO OYSTER (which I paid $3 for), NO napkins, and NO utensils! I hurried and looked up the number to call and see about getting a credit for the oyster and the phone number goes to an unidentified voice mail, despite seeing at least 3 employees while I was there and only a few customers so late after lunch. I left a message for them to call and have yet to hear back. The coleslaw is, to put it plainly, yucky. The fish is a little overdone (maybe its better to eat in house).I am so disappointed 🙁
Good Service, Good Food. Sea Bears has great food. I have tried several items, the fish’n’chips, the burgers, and it is always good. The staff is always really friendly and attentive, and try to make it a good visit for you and worth your time and money.
