The service was slow, but you get to enjoy some homemade chips and salsa. I tried their red japones salsa, their green salsa, habanero salsa and their mild pico de gallo. Hands down the red japones salsa is the best. It has a smokey flavor and more heat to it. Then i ordered a caldo de res(beef soup), that is only served on Sat/Sun. They brought out a giant bowl with what looked like the leftovers of a long day. I ordered a side of rice as well. I added my rice into my soup and added the red salsa, lime, onion and cilantro. It was just what I needed. And their corn tortillas are hand made and they are huge!

Flor de la vida excelente. One of the very best in the west. Fresh, flavorful and fullfilling! Staff is very nice. Take the time to engage them in small talk. They are sooo much fun! Try their barbacoa!! Amazing!!!!

Good and basic. Just like it should be.

No Tex-Mex in sight!. I was feeling thrifty the last time I ate there. So, I ordered their Carne Asada burrito smothered with green chili. Expecting the commonplace offering, 40% beans, 40% rice and 10 percent meat and toppings, I was so wrong! That gargantuan burrito could feed two maybe three people. Then I got blown away when the ratios blew my mind with 50% meat, 20% frijoles and rice with the toppings covering the rest. The pico they serve is awesome! Plus the aqua fresca is on the money! The bottom line is, if you find an ethnic restaurant that is more frequented by that particular ethnic group than non-Mexicans. Chances are you found good Mexican or whatever the the ethnic flavor happens to be. I was there for dinner a few weeks ago, and my table companions and I were the only ones not holding their conversation in Spanish. And they were packed!

Great Food. Ventanas is the most authentic Mexican restaurant around. I lived in Mexico City for 4 years and upon returning to the area, I couldn’t find anywhere to go that matched the flavor of Mexico City. I tried a few other places in Ogden, but they used way too much cheese or had tex-mex dishes. I’ve tried several items on the menu, you can’t go wrong with with any of them.

This is a favorite authenitic Mexican restaurant. Having lived in Mexico for a few years I’m always looking to replicate the experience and this is very close. put a lot of lime, cilantro, and salsa on your tacos for the best taste. We got the parrillada meat platter which the menu says wills feed 3-5. It fed 11 adults with leftovers. Hot chats is great too.

Try the chile rellenos. The Chile rellenos are outstanding. The chips and salsa are not so good. Bring a sweatshirt, it is often freezing in there.
