This Sinaloa-style seafood restaurant has been open for only a few months, but the owners previously owned a seafood restaurant in Provo. They plan to expand into an adjacent space and open a traditional taqueria, as well. The menu has a wide range of Mexican seafood dishes, from simple tacos, to ceviche, to soups, to botanas (appetizer trays), to grilled lobster and fried seafood. They also offer a few non-seafood dishes like quesadillas, arrachera (grilled skirt steak), and bistec/asada.The $0.99 fish tacos are Ensenada-style, and for $0.99 they are pretty decent. The basic camaron (shrimp) taco is the same, but just a little bit more expensive, yet not bad at all. The spicy shrimp and the gobernador tacos are really terrific. The spicy shrimp is whole shrimp sauteed with aromatics, then drenched in a blast of hot sauce, tomatoes, and crema. The gobernador is described on the menu as using smoked marlin (!), but they were out, so they made it with shrimp instead. It’s a sort of cross between a saucy shrimp taco and a quesadilla. Absolutely terrific, and this taco alone moves it near the top of my list (one caveat…sometimes inconsistent, with too much tomato). The asada tacos were fine, and the arrachera was grilled over charcoal, then served with rice, grilled onions and jalapenos, tortillas, and a small quesadilla. Quite good. The horchata was heavy with cinnamon, and maybe a bit of vanilla. Tasty.Service was very hospitable and efficient, and the prices were quite reasonable. Probably gonna make this a regular stop.
