Worst BBQ I have ever had. When you place your order they WEIGH the meat portion, and the service was slow. I would never recommend this restaurant. Not worth the prices at all.

Real BBQ, really good. Please ignore the negative reviews. I am a Texan raised, beef eating, BBQing man and I have to say that Big Al’s is the best place to go in Provo for BBQ.Their meat is actually cooked in BBQ fashion- low and indirect heat, long times, and with care. Their sauces are expertly matched with the right amount of vinegar or molasses. Their combos are good deals, and above all, it’s tasty.I’ve eaten at BBQ joints my whole life, including world famous ones like The Salt Lick in Driftwood, and Kreuz Market in Lockhart, TX. Big Al’s holds its own considering its geographical handicap. If you want BBQ in Utah and you go anywhere but Big Al’s, you’re wasting your money.

Below average across the board. The ribs were more like jerky on a bone. The meat lacked smokiness, and needed sauce. The Mac and Cheese was okay and the beans were enjoyable.

Fantastic BBQ!!!. I consult a lot and have eaten a lot of Texas BBQ. I can tell you that Big Al’s has Texas Style BBQ! The ribs are jucy, the brisket tender, and the pulled pork sandwich is to die for! The sides are definitly from scratch; the beans are magnificent, the potato salad yummy, the sweet potato fries are good as are the steak fries. The Sauces are especially good! Everything about Big Al’s is great from the cleanliness and ambiance to the quick service and hospitality. I especially appreciate the texted specials since I work close and can run over for lunch!
