It felt really home-y in there– I guess that’s what they wanted the customers to feel as it is a family-owned restaurant. At the expense of my own body rejecting sugar, the soft, maple sweetness of the hog jowl tacos and the subtle richness of the raspberry cheesecake did me in. My palate very much enjoyed the experience but my body disagreed. I would recommend it but if you’re sensitive to sugary stuff like me, order something that isn’t the hog jowl or the cheesecake. Still good, though but there’s a world of options to explore.
Do not eat any specials! I went to the restaurant knowing that I will pay a bit. Everything in the menu was somewhere between 18-22 which is alright. The waitress came and offer the special of the day. Me and my date both got it. When the bill came back it was 103$ (Plus the tip) the steak was not spectacular. The thing was not in the menu and everything else was way cheaper. I just came back to my apt, and Im looking to what Im going to eat because it was a tiny meal! A tiny very expensive meal. Maybe if you get things out of the menu, but I don’t think I can get over that first try.
