Delicious. My husband and I went here for dinner one night and loved it! The food was delicious, and there was a lot of it! Great prices, and the food came quick! The staff (as far as I could tell) were all Chinese, and weren’t very friendly (not rude, but didn’t go out of their way to be nice), but I think you’ll get that at any Chinese restaurant. Great place. We’ll be back!
LOVE IT!. We have been struggling to find a great Chinese restaurant since we moved to Orem from Payson, and lost Tsing Tao. We have probably tried 6 different Chinese places in the last 6 months, and Great China is the clear winner! First, the customer service is amazing. The first time we ordered was such a fabulous experience. First of all, I could easily understand the person answering the phone, and she was SO NICE! Usually when I ask questions at a Chinese restaurant, I’m greeted with some hostility, like I must be rude or stupid for not knowing. But when I asked for an explanation of the different kinds of noodles, she kindly obliged, and not in a rude or condescending way. Then when I mentioned I wanted to make a to-go order, I realized it was 8:59 and they closed at 9. I told her I was sorry, I would call another night, I knew it was too late, and she insisted I let her check with the kitchen. They were SO NICE and let me place and order at 8:59 pm, and stayed open until we picked it up at 9:15. By this point I was PRAYING the food would be good, because of such great service.The food lived up to the customer service. It was totally different than any other Chinese food I’ve had, and in every good way imaginable. First the prices are phenomenal and the portion sizes are HUGE! We got sesame chicken, szechuan beef, chicken fried rice, and chicken lo mein. The Sesame Chicken was great! Totally different than any other we’ve gotten before, more of a red-ish sauce, and really delicious. But the star is for sure the szechuan beef. Amazing, tons of food and they don’t skimp on the sauce. The chicken fried rice was good, about the only thing we didn’t LOVE was the chicken lo mein. It wasn’t bad, just nothing special. Needed some oomph, mostly tasted like plain chicken and plain noodles. But that couldn’t bring down the overall meal.We’ve ordered several times since that first visit (that decision to stay open late created a great customer!) and have had consistently good food and service each time. I highly recommend Great China!
My Favorite. This is my favorite Chinese buffet. When the food is fresh, its amazing! of course all food deteriorates with time on a buffet. The stir fry dishes here are some of the best around. I’ m addicted to the noodles, they have drugs in them or something! Please don’t come here for lunch, because I hate waiting for a table. Please open another branch of this restauraunt in American Fork or Lehi so I wont have to drive as far. Also Wayne and his wife as servers can’t be beat!
This is really two restaurants.. Great China during the lunch buffet is about the best deal for a chinese lunch buffet around. I like everything in the buffet except the sweet & sour pork which has always seemed a little tough to me. But the sweet & sour chicken, the beef & broccoli, the beijing sauce chicken, and especially the black bean sauce chicken are excellent for what the buffet costs. This is why i have been back time and time again for more than 10 years running. If i want to spend well under $10 for a delicious chinese buffet lunch with good service, I’m there, every time. At night this place turns into a very respectable chinese restaurant with good flavor in all the dishes i have tried. I will absolutely murder an order of beef in black bean sauce from time to time. This is not the best chinese I’ve had, but there are a lot of different kinds of chinese restaurant, and for the kind of chinese restaurant they are, they’re my favorite.
First time I went it was disgustingly messy and I didn’t care much for it other than the yummy chow mein but I gave it another try and that time it was much better! I will certainly go back in the future!
