Shaved ice isn’t fancy or gourmet but somehow it’s just good. Hokulia is as close as I’ve ever had to Angels Halo in Hawaii and it’s downright delicious. You have to get the sweetened condensed milk on top. Without that, it’s just flavored ice. With that it turns into creamy snowy goodness.
Really didn’t like how everyone that worked there seemed like they didn’t really want to talk to you at all. Very long wait and the staff seemed like they weren’t really in a hurry.
Great but, why wait?. I was tired of waiting over 30 minutes so I found this place called Snack Shack in front of Smiths on Freedom. They sell the same stuff for less and I only had to wait 10 minutes. I lived in Hawaii and this place tastes just like what I bought there. They offer ice cream and toppings. I’m not sure where they will be summer of 2013 but you can follow them on Snack Shack USA.com. They took my charge card last year. I understand they also take checks and cash.
This place is seriously legit!!! I lived on hawaii and this is literally the ONLY place in utah county to get a really and truley authentic hawaiian shaved ice (and trust me when i say i have tried them all!). The sizes are huge and you absolutley positively have to get a snow cap. Cash only, but it is well worth the trip to an atm. There happens to be one right up the street at uccu.
