Horrible burrito. They take your usual burrito ingredients, wrap in a flour tortilla, and then put the whole thing in a steamer. The steamer seals the burrito, but it also turns the tortilla to a doughy texture. And unfortunately it destroys the texture of everything inside too. The chicken, rice, and beans were all a mushy, flavorless mess. The only way I could eat this was by using copious amounts of hot sauce. By using the steamer, they’re able to keep the ingredients cold so they can last for a long time, weeks even. Which I’m sure saves them money, but it means none of the ingredients are fresh. I didn’t think you could screw up a burrito this bad, but these guys have done it. The real shame is that this place used to produce a decent burrito.
Great food and good prices. I love that everything is made with the freshest of ingredients. Make sure you taste the sauces before you pour them on your food, though! We made the mistake of pouring a green sauce all over it. Let’s just say the food was almost inedible because it was so spicy. Learned our lesson. Their chips are great. We enjoy getting their burritos (I really like the veggie one.) clarkscondensed.com
Used to be the best burrito around. The last couple times I’ve been in they put less and less meet in the burritos and more and more beans. Ny friend took apart her burrito because she hates beans and found that there was practically no meat at all and mostly beans. This place is on the decline. It’s a real shame too because it used to be something great.
Yummy. I went to the new location in Lehi. I thought the food was excellent and the staff super friendly. I got the steak quesadilla and thought that the steak was great and not fatty or chewy like you get in some restaurants. Loved the salsa too. Next time I’m going to try the chimichanga.
Not Worth a Visit. I visited Mountain West Burrito tonight at their new location in Lehi, UT.I will never return. The prices are high, only one salsa choice and they were out of forks and Coke Zero. I ordered a salad (which I paid $7 for) and had to eat the entire thing with a spoon. They also had to redo my food 3 different times from what I originally ordered. Give me Cafe Rio or Chipotle any day of the week.
Love it. Closest California style Mexican food I have found in Utah. Great burritos and tacos. Green sauce gives it a little extra kick.
Fresh. Tasty. The pico is incredible. Guac is great. I was impressed with the chimichangas , so light, fresh, and not greasy at all. The burritos are huge and scrumptious. My wife loved her salad. The carnitas is sweet and perfectly flavored. The chips are fresh. The green salsa that comes with the chips is a bit too hot for me however. The location is weird (former gas station), and somewhat unfortunate (smoke shop for restroom) but the flavorific food more than makes up for the lack of ambiance. Oh yeah did I say FRESH.
