The food is excellent (really excellent and not small portions), but be aware that you will wait a very long time to get it. There is one man and his wife running the show, and he only cooks one order at a time. There could be 3 tables in front of you before your meal gets prepared. He is a very nice man, and the food’s authentic. Also, the menus you see here are inaccurate. The prices have risen since this was posted. Sandwiches are $9.99, NOT $6.49. That caught me off guard when I went in.

A very particular cuisine, but if you’re wanting some fresh juices and the most amazing empanadas you could imagine, this is the place to come. Pay attention to the hours, and be prepared to follow instructions. (Yes, the owner has instructions for you.)

Fruit Juices. Homemade fruit juices made with local ingredients served in unique carafes.22 Aug, 2014My new favorite restaurant in Provo. Ate here today and absolutely loved it. Yes, it is a bit different, as there really isn’t much of a server, and you need to bus your own tables. However, the food is amazing!I went for a business lunch today as I have been getting sick and tired of the usual restaurants in Provo and wanted to try something new. This restaurant is a very small restaurant, and is run by an older couple. They are both natively Chilean and the wife has to be one of the most hospitable people I’ve ever met. She talked to us, told us how everything worked, took our orders and let us know she’d call our names out when the food was ready. The wait was not long at all (though the restaurant was only half full), nothing more than I’ve experienced anywhere else. The food though, oh my, the food! I had the Barros Luco sandiwch and it was perfection. Very simple, just bread, steak and cheese, but each ingredient was done perfectly. The bread was crunchy yet soft, the steak marinated well and the cheese melted perfectly. On top of that everybody that came with me today got their own fruit juice (comes in these very cool looking glass bottles) and we all loved them. I had the peach juice (made from local peaches I was told) and I couldn’t ask for more, much better than their soda selection. I’m glad I was persuaded by the owners to skip the soda.Overall I cannot recommend this restaurant enough (well, as long as you don’t go and crowd the restaurant when I want to eat there). If you’re looking for something new and not a chain in Provo, definitely hit up Pantrucas.22 Aug, 2014Barro Luco Sandwich. Simple yet very tasty, the Barros Luco sandwich is one of the best steak and cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had.

Great Restaurant!!. Pantrucas is a great restaurant, with sweet people, good food and a nice cozy atmosphere. The owners are very nice and try to make your meal as enjoyable as possible. The food is delicious, my favorite order being the Churrasco Palta and Peach Juice, made with fresh ingredients and homemade bread. Plus, one order of juice is big enough for two people! The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and comfortable but, when the place is busy, it can get a little crowded. An interesting thing about this restaurant is the owners style of service. You have to pick your food up from the counter and then when you’ve finished eating, return your dishes to the counter. Sometimes, when the restaurant isn’t busy, they will bring your food to you, but you still have to return your dishes to the counter. As long as their serving style doesn’t bother you, it is a great restaurant with reasonable pricing, kind people, great food and a comfortable atmosphere.

Excellent food! The churrasco palta, all the empanadas, the juices (big enough to share), and the lentejas were all amazing. Will definitely be back!

Finally made it here after so many recommendations. The owners are charming and welcoming. I ordered the churrasco palta (loaded with delicious fresh guacamole and the fresh-baked bun was great!) and fresh pineapple juice. I thought $4 was a bit pricey for a glass of juice, but it came out ice cold and frothy in a tall carafe–delicious. Great home-cooked food!

Pretty Good, need to try more. We took the kids to Pantrucas Thursday evening, and I have to say it wasn’t too shabby. The Owner was so nice in explaining the way things were done. It’s a tiny little place with 7 or 8 little tables, so you have to get your food from the counter and put your plates and cups etc. back on the counter when you finish, because there is NO room for a waiter. The Peach juice literally tasted like I was drinking a peach, and the lemon juice was lip-smackingly sour and delicious. We ordered 2 chicken strip kids meals, and 2 churrasco sandwiches. As for the kids meals, the chicken strips were delicious, and my kids gobbled them up. The fries were decent, and the apples were okay. The churrasco sandwich was quite delicious. It didn’t seem like a lot of ingredients, but the combination really worked well. I especially liked the bread, guacamole, and steak.I’ll definitely have to go again sometime. It was different than I was used to but still good, and I’d like to try an empanada, a dessert, and some of the other juices next time.
