Tasty, cheap, made to order Chinese. I can’t believe the incredible value at is place. I had a very generous dinner portion of ham fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, soup, egg roll and drink for $7.25 before tax and tip. The owners are great, the food is freshly made (my biggest complaint with a lot of local Chinese places is lukewarm food temperatures). Sure, the atmosphere is not fantastic, and the food not exactly healthy, but if you’re looking for great tasting cheap Chinese then stop by this place.
I will never eat here again. The prices are cheap and it’s reflected in the quality of the food. We ordered the generals chicken…it was dark meat and so fatty and chewy only half of it was edible. The lo mein had a weird bleach smell to it. Worst Chinese food I have ever had.
LOTS of food. I wouldn’t say that Rice King is any level of superior Chinese food. All things considered, I found it to be pretty average. However, the portions are absolutely nuts. I got enough food for two meals for seven bucks, including a free soup and soda. Rice King is a -great- way to get full at a very low price. It’s not very exotic, it’s not very inspired, but it’s not remotely expensive. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, though, because I could say the same thing about most burger joints.
Love Rice King. Amazing place, great ‘soy’ vegan-friendly menu available
My Favorite Chinese Food in Utah. I love Chinese food, and I never pass up a chance to try a new place. I’ve been to Rice King at least a dozen times now, and the food has been excellent every single time. Best of all they do a $4.99 lunch special that includes soup, entree, fried rice, egg roll and a soda. You get a ton of good food for almost nothing…killer deal 🙂
I won’t return. Note that Rice King and Rice King Noodles are two different restaurants with completely different menus. Rice King is Chinese, Rice King Noodles is all pho (noodle soup), which I beleve is Vietnamese. They are just a block or two apart and have such similar names that it is confusing. I was expecting a cheap, greasy, no atmosphere Chinese place. I was also expecting tasty food. Unfortunately, I got the cheap, greasy no atmosphere part, but not the tasty part. We ordered the appetizer sampler, the Sezchuan chicken and the Sesame chicken. My husband complained that there wasn’t nearly enough sauce. I thought the sauce smelled really good, but had little flavor. What really bothered me was the texture of the chicken: spongy and unpleasant. I was unhappy with this meal and ended up not eating most of it. I won’t go back.
Greasy Delicousness. This is classic american-chinese. It’s cheap, it’s unhealthy and the egg drop soup will burn your tongue off. Tips: cream cheese ragoons, delicious; sweet and sour sauce, not; pork, not; white chicken is the safest choice, my recommendation is the sesame chicken.
