Great choices of sandwiches, soups, salads & bakery items. Combo meals available. Inside and outdoor seating. Friendly and fast service, takeout available. Popular place especially at lunchtime.

I want this to be good. I work in the Wells Fargo building and the convenience of this cafe sadly does not outweigh the cons. I’m sure the food is great, but I feel like it’s run by a bunch of teenagers and the service is so unorganized and slow. I’ve ordered different espresso drinks and they’ve all been terrible. They taste burnt (burned?) and watered down. I do NOT recommend them as a coffee shop.

Yet another choice by Lunch Central. A newly opened place just off Lunch Central–the block of Broadway (300 S) between Main and State. Most of the offerings are sandwiches, salads and soups but , given my childhood imprinting by the chicken pot pie at Marshall Field’s in Chicago, I order that whenever offered. Generous mixture of vegetables and a sauce which was not too salty (a common fault) but with spongey chicken cubes and a top of anemic puff pastry lacking much butter and oven time. OK side salad. Chipper staff. Real tableware. Perhaps most notable during this siege of cold weather as being one of the few downtown lunch places well protected from drafts as it is on the second floor of the Wells Fargo Bldg. Good natural light with windows on north and east and an adjoining terrace overlooking Gallivan Plaza. Was quite busy at 12:40 but efficient staff and enough turnover that I found a table promptly. Most other customers without coats so must work within building which is probably a vote of confidence.
