Worst Service Ever.. Seriously people? The way to build a customer base is not to treat your clientele as inferior. This place personifies the holier than thou cool kid attitude that I happily left behind in high school. Grow up. Awful, never going back, telling everyone I know to do the same.
High priced cheap ingredients. The deep fryer’s working overtime at bodega, where cheap ingredients like onions, potatoes, flour, and rice are featured in an overpriced menu…even the excellent service couldn’t bring me back here
Nothing to write home about. I did like the atmosphere but the food was over priced and did not impress. We went for dinner with a large group and 2 of the entrees did not come out for 15 minutes after the rest.
Not worth it. We went to Bodega last night for dinner for the second time, with hopes that it would be better than the first time we went last fall. Unfortunately, it was not. While the ambiance and decor is awesome, the menu is overpriced for poor quality food, and the service is sub par at best. Last night, 3 people in our group ordered the soup and each one sent theirs back at different times because it was cold (they ordered in different courses). A good server would have considered that there already had been one complaint of cold soup and would have made sure the others were hot, but instead our server kept bringing cold soup to the table. 2 others in our group ordered the 36 Rueban sandwich and said it was way too dry. When they asked the server for more of the condiment that was on the sandwich, she said they had run out. When they asked her what other condiment recommendations she had to put on the sandwich, she was was clueless. She said ketchup or mustard. One of the guys asked to look at the menu again, then asked for the sauce served with the chicken wings. Something the server should have suggested (which, by the way, did not improve the sandwich either). The other items were over salted and undercooked. The only items that everyone seemed to be happy with were the Corndogs and the cocktails. The staff aren’t familiar with their own menu, nor do they seem to care if the guests are unhappy. This was most disappointing. Until the Rest at Bodega improves their menu and recipes and provides training to their staff on service and etiquette, they will not be successful in a city where there are dozens of great restaurants, many within walking distance and all that provide better food, service and experiences.
Eating here was like being in an episode of Portlandia. The wait staff was snooty and thought they were really too cool to provide good service. The food was overpriced. Lastly, the menu was lack luster and did not have many options. They’re trying a bit too hard.
This place has an awesome atmosphere, and the food is worth ordering before your rounds of drinks. Don’t be ashamed to order more than one of their tasty appetizers!
