Great prices!. I’m the type of girl who likes the idea of getting a thing or two from a little bakery or sweets shop, but it seems the prices, for what you get, are always outrageous. Carlucci’s, on the other hand, has a large amount of options to pick from, and there are almost a dozen things you can pick out of their showcase to try that are under $2 or so, some little tartlets even costing about 50 cents. How fun is that?! As for flavor, I’ve only ever had their cannolis. I’ve never had one before here and I’ve had two now, and on the second try it was delicious! The first time was good too, but I discovered I like my cannolis where the inside is slightly melted, which because I was out and about, happened to my second one. 🙂 I love that it’s near Caputo’s Market and Bruges, two of my fav places to go while in SLC, and mixed with their prices and DELICIOUS cannolis, I’ll definitely be back!

LOVES IT!!!!!!!! This is the best effing cannoli I’ve had since I left Jersey. If you haven’t tried one, get one. It’s rich, the shells are homemade and not from a box, (I’m assuming fried in lard like they’re supposed to) and not for health nuts. This place is worth the stop.

Actually open during breakfast hours. Not like the waffle house next door.

Dessert. My husband and I were walking by when we decided to stop and eat! We ended up getting the vanilla bean cheese cake which was delicious. $4.50 for a smal slice. We also had a cheese bread which was delicious as well.

Sticky bun champs. As someone who tries pecan rolls at any opportunity, I proclaim these Salt Lake’s best and one of the best I’ve had anywhere. My standard for a good bun is a rich yeast dough , good caramel and a generous number of pecans. *(I am not talking cinnamon rolls especially those large doughy hunks with weak spice and heavy frosting) Sticky buns are not available every day; come early to be assured of one during the farmers market . Carlucci’s country Italian loaf and white sandwich bread are that hard-to-find combo in white bread– non-sweet and close-textured. (suitable for making BLTs with the tomatoes you got at farmers market).* 2013 update..pecans getting pretty scanty but roll still goodCOFFEE CENSUS FALL 2012: Coffee and decent cinnamon bun( the exemplary pecan rolls are not always available, and are getting lighter on pecans) $4.50. Real china and flatware. About third full and steady takeout line midmorning.

I ordered the fruit tart and some kind of flat candy. It was good but not amazingly good. The fruit tart was very sweet and I didn’t like it so much. Good to try, but not to come back.

Best Baguettes in SLC. I don’t get over to this place often enough, considering how close it is to where I live. But, any time I’m there, I go home with a baguette or loaf of crusty sandwich bread. Go next door to Caputo’s for whatever deli meats, olive oil, and cheeses you need, but get your bread at Carlucci’s. I haven’t found any better bread here yet.
