You can’t go wrong. Mazza is amazing food – the flavors are out of this world. My best friend is Gluten-Free and they have so many awesome options for his dietary needs. The french fries are sight to be seen; the garlic aioli magic they serve with them makes them worth every calorie-loaded bite. While a little expensive, i’m happy to dine here when i can afford it because it is sooo good! The Chicken and Potatoes Muttabakh (spelling?) is my favorite go-to item, and the Baba Ganush is fantastic. Great takeout option, too – although the 9th and 9th store doesn’t do takeout, only the one on 15th.
If you haven’t tried it, there’s no time like now. I’ve been eating at Mazza since they were a counter service cafe. Their food is amazing, the servers great, and the atmosphere at this location is very relaxed.Mazza means a meal of multiple small dishes, and one of my favorite things to order here is the 4 side sampler which lets me try a variety of flavors. If you are willing to split your sides with multiple members of your party, sharing 2-3 of these lets you try many different delights. Don’t forget to ask for Ali’s special hot sauce to go with the potatoes harra.Mazza has brought in some unique Lebanese and middle eastern wines, such as the Massaya Silver which is an amazing wine.Don’t leave without trying a dessert of Kanafeh, which is a cream pudding style delight topped with orange blossom water.I’m afraid I haven’t been here much since they opened the 9th and 9th location, but there is no doubt this is a fantastic neighborhood restaurant location.

Always good. Have eaten lots of lunches and dinners here and at its 9th & 9th sister and don’t think we have ever had a bad meal. Like the sampler offering of appetizers — you choose 3 or 4 from a list of about 20 — it’s worth paying extra for the muhamara. Tonight’s lamb and spinach entree had a bright note and a play of textures from the almonds. A real meat-lover might consider it a bit short on the lamb, but we liked it as we have liked all the other entrees we’ve had — and that is most of them. Even the beverages are interesting — orange blossom in the lemonade, cardoman in the tea. Obliging service. The 15 & 15th location is quite small — room can be noisy if crowded. 15th East is not a high traffic speed street and the small west-facing sidewalk terrace is pleasant on a mild evening.
Mazzas Chicken & Potatoes Mutabbak. Busy little spot looks like a trendy little area, friendly service. I tried the Chicken & Potatoes Mutabbak on rice, overall very good nice portion size. My potato was a bit on the cold side, chicken flavor was good. Liked the atmosphere and friendly servers.
Love the fries!. Funny that a Middle Eastern place serves some of the best fries that you can find in the entire state, but it’s true. The fries at this place are exceptional. As is the dipping sauce they come with. Love pretty much all of their sandwiches too, especially the Chicken Shawarma. And whatever you do, don’t pass on the Muhamara – a red pepper concoction served with lettuce leaves. It’s to die for.
